Ajashakti knelt before Anugamini, his imposing figure dwarfing her even in a seated position. He gently grasped her upper arms, his fingers tracing the soft contours of her skin. His voice, laced with concern, asked "What's wrong, little bud ?"

His eyes searched her face, desperate for an answer. Anugamini continued to sob, her body shaking uncontrollably. Her face was buried in her hands, and no sound emerged from her lips except for the heartbreaking sobs.

"Are you in pain ?" Ajashakti asked, his expression etched with worry, as he gently moved his hands to her shoulders.

But Anugamini remained silent, her body shaking with silent sobs. The silence stretched between them, a heavy, oppressive weight.

"Did I make some mistake, dear ? Have I done something that made you upset ? Or have I not done something and that made you upset ?" Ajashakti asked, his voice filled with genuine concern.

Her sobs were like daggers piercing his soul. He tried to think of something, anything to comfort her.

"Anugamini, my love, what is troubling you ?" Ajashakti pleaded, "Do you desire anything ? Jewels, garments, palaces, kingdoms - anything your heart desires, I shall bring it to you. If you wish then I shall conquer the entire earth and place them at your feet. If you desire heavens, I shall bring them to you. If you desire wealth, I shall bring more wealth than Kuber and give them to you. Just tell me what you want."

His voice was filled with a promise, a vow to fulfill her every wish. He gently stroked her hair, hoping to comfort her. The urgency in his voice was palpable, a stark contrast to his usual calm demeanor.

Ajashakti gently took Anugamini's hands in his, his touch firm yet comforting. He forced her to look at him, his eyes filled with a mixture of concern and determination. With gentle strokes, he wiped away the tears that streamed down her face.

"Tell me, little bud, I will do anything for you." he said, his voice soft and tender, "Is there someone you wish to show favor to, or has someone earned your disfavor ? Tell me, who shall find my immediate favor and who shall incur my lasting disfavour ? Is there some guilty man who should be freed, or some innocent man I should put to death ? What poor man should I enrich ? What rich man shall I impoverish ?"

A flicker of triumph danced in her eyes, but she quickly masked it with a renewed show of distress. His words were a testament to his infatuation, a confirmation of her growing influence over him. He was no longer the formidable Daitya, the conqueror of worlds, the King of Asuras. He was a lovestruck man, willing to bend to her every whim.

Ajashakti said, "Me and all of my people bow to your will. I will not hesitate to fulfill any of your desires, even if it means sacrificing my own life."

Knowing that she had him exactly where she wanted him, Anugamini wiped away the remaining tears, her fingers trembling slightly. A calculated calm washed over her as she met Ajashakti's concerned gaze. Her mind raced, searching for a plausible excuse, a reason for her exaggerated distress.

"It's nothing," she whispered, her eyes downcast.

Ajashakti's brow furrowed in concern. "Please, tell me what's troubling you," he urged gently. "I cannot bear to see you upset."

She hesitated for a moment, then looked up at him with feigned innocence. "I was afraid you would be angry if I woke up after you," she admitted, her voice barely a whisper.

Ajashakti stared at Anugamini in disbelief, his eyes widening in amusement. A chuckle escaped his lips, a low rumble that quickly transformed into a hearty laugh.

"Why would you think that?" Ajashakti asked, amusement still lingering in his voice.

"Because... you are the king of the Asuras," she replied, her voice barely a whisper.

Ajashakti's laughter subsided, replaced by a tender smile. "Dearest, I could never be angry with you. Certainly not with a face as adorable as yours." He said and then with a gentle touch, he pinched her nose, his fingers lingering on her soft skin.

His smile was warm and reassuring, a gentle sunbeam dispelling the lingering shadows of Anugamini's doubts. His eyes held a tenderness that made her heart flutter.

"I have to go for training now," Ajashakti said. He reached out and gently patted her head, a gesture of affection and reassurance. With a final glance at her, he turned and walked towards the door, his footsteps echoing in the quiet chamber.

A triumphant smile spread across Anugamini's face as she watched Ajashakti disappear from view. Her plan was unfolding perfectly. With a swift movement, she grabbed the discarded garment from the floor, wrapping it loosely around her body. She moved towards the window, her steps light and purposeful.

Her gaze was fixed on the vast expanse of the sky, a canvas painted with hues of blue and gold. A soft whisper escaped her lips, a silent plea to the heavens.

"Devraj," she murmured, her voice barely audible above the gentle rustling of the wind. "Let the monsoons begin."
