I know I’m late in updating, but what can I do? I also feel bad when you guys don’t vote or comment, even though I ask you to do so in every chapter.

But still, I don't get much response, and it makes me wonder if you're enjoying the story or not. Your feedback and support mean a lot to me, and they motivate me to keep writing. ENJOY!!

As Jungkook started the car, his mind lingered on the message he had just sent. A smirk played on his lips as he imagined Tae's reaction when she woke up and saw his text. The thought gave him an extra burst of energy as he drove to the police station, the early morning streets quiet and serene.

Upon arriving at the station, Jungkook quickly parked and headed inside, greeting the officers he passed with a nod. The atmosphere inside was already buzzing with activity, the hum of phone calls, and the clicking of keyboards creating a familiar rhythm.

Chief Officer Minhyuk was waiting for him in his office, a serious expression on his face as he scanned through a stack of reports. Jungkook knew that look—it meant there was something important they needed to discuss.

“Good morning, sir,” Jungkook greeted as he entered the office, standing at attention.

Minhyuk looked up, giving a brief nod. “Morning, Jungkook. We’ve got a situation that needs your attention.”

Jungkook’s demeanor shifted instantly, the casual warmth from earlier replaced by focused professionalism. “What’s the situation?”

Minhyuk handed him a file, his expression grave. “There’s been a series of break-ins across the city, all targeting high-profile individuals. The latest one happened last night, and the details are troubling. I need you to head the investigation.”

Jungkook opened the file, scanning the details quickly. The pattern was clear—whoever was behind these break-ins was highly skilled and knew exactly what they were doing. The fact that no one had been caught yet meant they were dealing with a serious professional.

“I’ll assemble a team and get started right away,” Jungkook said, his mind already working on the next steps. “We’ll need to look into any common connections between the victims, as well as check for any security footage that might give us a lead.”

Minhyuk nodded. “I’m counting on you, Jungkook. The higher-ups are getting restless, and we need results. Keep me updated on your progress.”

“Yes, sir,” Jungkook replied, turning to leave the office. His thoughts were now fully focused on the case, the playful energy from earlier replaced with a determined resolve.

As he walked down the hallway, Jungkook quickly pulled out his phone, sending a message to his team, instructing them to meet in the conference room in ten minutes. He had no time to waste—every second counted in a case like this.

The team assembled quickly, and Jungkook wasted no time in briefing them on the situation. They discussed potential leads, reviewed security footage, and began mapping out the connections between the victims. Hours passed in a blur of activity, each team member focused on their tasks.

By the time they had a preliminary report, it was well past noon. Jungkook took a brief moment to step outside and clear his head. The cool air was a welcome relief after the intensity of the morning. He leaned against the wall, taking a deep breath as he checked his phone. There was a message from Tae:
