Julie's POV
I hopped off of the bed and ran my hand through my hair. I knew Braxton was crying and so was i. No matter how bad he hurts me, i hate to hurt him. I raised my head before i exited the room and saw a familiar face. Cody. He had seen the entire thing.
"Cody, wait!" I yelled after him as he bolted down the empty hallway.
"I hate you! How you could do this to me? I gave you my heart!" He shouted loudly at me when he stopped in his tracks.
"No! Please stop! I just..... I needed to figure things out! Its you!! I NEED YOU CODY!!! please! Stop!" I pleaded.
"I thought you were different. I fell for your trick! Do you know how stupid that makes me feel?"
"It wasn't a trick! I....... i love you." I said softly but sweetly.
"And why should i believe you? I just saw you in the bed with your ex-boyfriend or for all i know, your boyfriend! You were kissing him! Do i need to tell you everything you know just happened or can you remember?!?!"
"Its not like that! You don't know how difficult this is for me!"
"How do you expect me to forgive you? You broke me."
"I don't." I said shamefully.
"Good. Cause I'm not going to." He yelled before he disappeared into his room with a clicking of the locked door. I laid on the floor and cried almost as hard as when Kendly died. I sat next to Cody's door on the floor, and waited. I could hear him inside crying. I wanted to fix him. To feel his toned abs. I felt revolted that i had hurt Cody like Braxton had hurt me.
After a couple of hours of waiting, and still no Cody, i got up and began banging on the door.
"LET ME IN! ILL FIX YOU! ILL FIX YOU! ill fix you! Ill fix you." I repeated over and over getting weaker and weaker. I heard footsteps down the hall toward me. As i fell to the floor, eyes glued with tears, i saw who it was. It was Braxton walking toward me to sit. After he planted his bum next to mine he held my hand.
"Friends then." He said with a delightful and refreshing smile.
A shaky smile appeared on my cheeks as well.
"Friends then."
"So friend, who's this mysterious guy?"
"His name is Cody."
"I caught that."
"He is the best thing that has ever happened to me and i just let him slip. I killed his heart. I broke him. Why did i let you kiss me?" I asked him hurt.
"The question is, why did you ever trust a bastard like me?"
I laughed.
"Your not a bastard."
"I am. I ruined your chance at happiness."
"No. I ruined my chance. Thats not what i care about though. All i care about is him Brax."
"Do you love him?"
"I love him! If he asked me to marry him at right this moment, i would. Well, if it was legal for thirteen year olds to marry of course. Ive never felt this way before. Its love at first sight. " I said releasing a little giggle before getting serious again.
"I broke his life."
"Wait here." Braxton said getting up from his spot and returning to his room. He reappeared soon enough with his hands behind his back.
"This was from my parents... But i think you should have it. You need it to get him back." He offered his hands out to me revealing a 'ride shotgun in a stock car' coupon. It was perfect! What boyfriend wouldn't want that?
I ran into Braxton's arms and gave him the biggest hug.
"Thank you so much!" I yelled in his face with excitement.
It was so loud he flinched. I punched his arm jokingly and knocked on the door. There was still no answer so i sat back down in my spot.
"You can go get some rest." I told Braxton. "Thanks again!"
I wanted to be alone with Cody if he ever did come out. I watched Braxton go back into his room and then i stood and knocked again. I did it softer this time. To my surprise he opened the door.
"This is for you" i said handing him what i hoped with all of my heart would fix my mistake. Why is Braxton always ruining things for me?
Cody took the gift and i watched his beautiful blue eyes light up.
"Hi, my name is cody!" He said.
I smiled. Im glad that we can start over.
"Im Julie, but you can call me jules." I said with a grin from ear to ear.
"Gladly!" He peeped.
He took me for a walk outside in the hospital parking lot. I told him about my feelings and he told me about his. He loved me back! After a long conversation full of happiness, gumdrops, and unicorns, there was a short silence.
"I decided to forgive you because i realized that i cant push away everyone who loves me. I will never learn that way. It would have turned out just as last time and i would have spent the rest of my life loving someone who i will never see again. I don't want to loose you."
"What happened last time?"
"My dad. He........"
"We don't have to talk about it. You can tell me when you are ready. And if that is fifty years from now when we are old and about to die, that is fine. I only care about you."
He smiled at me and pulled me in for a hug.
"We don't really have to start over do we?" He asked.
I giggled. "Nope!" I said while squeezing his bum.
Cody's POV
my angel is back and i never want to loose her. No matter how many mistakes she makes, i am determined to keep her because God may never give me another angel again. I cant loose this one. She may be my last.
