You let out a soft whine as you were shook awake, it felt like it was way too early. Despite this, you were pulled off the bed and to your feet.

"I know, little one, but we need to leave soon."

You rubbed your eyes, sleepily trying to remember if anyone said anything about leaving today. ".. What?"

Moon handed you your shoes alongside a fresh outfit. "I'm taking you to the park."

You brightened at that, it wasn't everyday you got to go to a playground. You were kinda living in one at the moment, but it wasn't really the same.

Moon laughed and started to leave, "Come out when you're done."

He held both hands to his chest and looked down, your smile was truly worth the world to him. Sun's sigh pulled him from his thoughts.

"Are you sure no one will see you?"

"Sunny, I am very sure. It's very small and in an area with little to no traffic. I wouldn't do this if I wasn't sure."

"I- I know but-"

Moon grabbed him by the shoulders. "We will be fine. I have a first aid kit, enough food and water for the day, a change of clothes for them, it's okay. You will be the first to know if anything goes wrong, we will be back before the doors are locked. ... And one day I'll get you out of this dump too."

Sun let out a sad laugh, "You're quite the dreamer Moony, but I think bad things would happen if we left.."

Before Moon could object, you came barreling out of his room.

Sun gasped and pat your head, "Well don't you look ready for adventure! I can't wait for you to come home and tell me all about it!"

"I will!" You beamed up at him, already just absolutely ecstatic.

Moon held his hand out to you, "Ready?"

"Mhm!" You grabbed on, today was gonna be great, you just knew it.

Sun and Moon nodded to each other before parting ways.

"Stay safe!"

"We will!"

Sun sighed once more, hung his head low, and got ready for the day.

Moon guided you through the 'plex, constantly looking over his shoulder, they weren't officially open yet, but there was the possibility of an employee coming in early. You were almost at the entrance when Moon noticed a flaw in his plan. He stopped in front of a bathroom.

"You should go now, we'll be out for a while.."

Moon watched in relief as you sprinted in, then, he stood with his back to the door keeping a lookout.

"So, y'all're finally makin' a run for it, huh. Kinda sucks really, I was bettin' on you taking a little longer."

"Where did you even come from? And why were- I don't want to know." Moon rubbed his forehead in annoyance. "I am simply taking the child out for a few hours."

Monty pumped his fist at the news that his guess was still on the table, then leaned against the wall. "Ah, well, whenever you do, I'm always open to causing distractions. I know this place is soul sucking for you."

"I.. Thank you, that would be very helpful..."

"No problem, man."

You walked out of the bathroom, only slightly startled to see two faces instead of one.

"Sup, squirt?"

"We're goin' to the park!"

"Sweet!

Monty very lightly punched your shoulder, "You go have fun, lil guy."

"I will!"

He laughed and started to walk away, "I'll see you two later!"

Moon grabbed your hand back and you made your way to the door. "Well someone's excited.."

"Uh huh!"

"That's good, and.. It's going to be a bit of a walk.. Would you mind if I carried you?"

"Nope!"

Moon nodded before hoisting you up, arms around his neck and legs around his waist. He made sure you were secure before moving again. It took a little while to get there, but you didn't mind. It was fun to watch the world around you and talk to your best friend.

Moon liked having your head tucked under his, so you couldn't see him look over his shoulder in fear of being seen. He wanted to keep you in a veil of innocence, shielding your fragile soul for as long as possible.

"Alright, little one.." He said as he set you down on the mulch.

He waited for you to go play, and was rather surprised when you stood there hesitantly holding out your hand. He took it hastily, absolutely delighted when you started to lead him around the playground.

You found the swingset in seconds, pulling Moon over excitedly. You plopped down in your swing of choice, expecting him to take the other. He didn't though, he stood behind you and started to push. You looked up in surprise, Moon backed away slightly.
