Lucy's diary
So I'm going to a party. Apparently.
Kyra basically ambushed me into it, saying we should celebrate me finishing my first article. And when that wasn't convincing enough, she added that it would be a good chance for me to get to know the RedBull drivers better.
I didn't have the heart to tell her about my interview with Max today and that being near him was the last thing I wanted to do. They've been getting along so well in the past couple of days... I don't want to be the reason that stops.
Kyra also noticed the bandage on my hand. Luckily I was able to convince her that I just had an accident while shaving, which she believed.
So yeah, I have to go now and "prepare" for the party with Kyra. I think that's going to be 10% her putting make up on me and 90% watching her and Charles trying not to make out. Yey to me.•

After her interview with Max, Lucy just wanted to get to her hotel room. Sleep. Maybe cry a little more.
What she definitely did not want to do was go to a party. She didn't even want to attend one on a good day.
Yet here she was. In a room lit only by flashing neon lights, surrounded by a bunch of celebrities and strangers in some dress that was definitely not fitting for an even like this.
She'd been here for about five minutes and was already over it. All she could do was hang by the bar and hope time would pass quickly.
The only reason she was here, which was her cousin, was currently flirting with her boyfriend only inches away from her. From the time they'd entered the club, that teams had rented out together, the two had been inseparable. Constantly flirting, kissing, drinking...
Normally Lucy wouldn't mind. She loved seeing her cousin so happy, but in this unfamiliar place she would have liked to have someone to interact with. But for now she was left observing the people around them and dodging the barkeeper who constantly asked her if she wanted a cocktail (even though Lucy had kindly told him multiple times that she was fine with soda).
»Kyra!« The screeching noise was followed by a flash jumping at the young woman, almost pushing Charles against some chairs.
Lucy had jumped to the side quick enough to avoid getting hit by the man, who was swiftly identified as Lando Norris. The curly haired man was clinging onto her cousin, who hugged him back laughing.
»Dude, I am barely able to stand on my own, chill!« Kyra exclaimed, leading to Lando backing off quickly and apologizing profusely.
Lucy just watched the scene with a strange feeling of jealousy. Kyra, Lando and Charles all standing together, laughing and talking... It was a happy sight. One the girl had never experienced and she doubted she would anytime soon.
Not to disturb them in any way, Lucy scooted to the end of the bar, away from them. That was when she spotted Max, sitting on an elevated part on the right side of the club. There were lounges with comfortable, satin chairs and couches. He was sitting with some other men, drivers, Lucy assumed, but it was too dark for her to recognize anyone other than Verstappen.
