Hey guys, I think chapters will be a bit longer from now on (strictly taken from the last chapter on), because I just have so many things that have to be done, but I don't want to have like 60 chapters or something.

So instead of the 3000-3500 word chapters, you'll be getting around 4000-5000 word chapters. Hope that's okay for everyone!

Also have fun with this one, it's kinda long, but I needed to move this thing along :)

Lucy's diary

Mentally not doing to well right now. Maybe I'll have the energy to write something later...

The news of cops looking for Kyra, which initially was only told to a circle of trusted people, spread around track like a wildfire. To Lucy's surprise everyone was willing to help out and hide her.

That was what they'd settled for. It was Charles and Kyra's weekend as it was the Monegasques home race and the one they'd become a couple at last season. So for the next three days Kyra would be smuggled in and out of the circuit, staying in different garages and staying in various hotels for the nights.

It was complicated for sure, especially for Charles who was supposed to focus on driving, but also worried about his girlfriends well-being. On a visit Lucy paid him to check up on the man, he voiced some concerns about his engagement plans.

»I just don't know... I should probably wait. Ask her after all this is over...« Charles said while chewing on his nails.

He was pacing up and down the room, while Lucy was leaned against the wall. The only reason she was able to look as calm as she did was because she had years of practice dealing with anxiety like this.

»No, don't do that!« She was a bit too loud, stopping Charles in his tracks. She gave him an apologetic smile, before continuing, »There will always be something that isn't perfect- Sure, police looking for Kyra might be a bit of a big thing, but we'll all help out to make it possible.«

Charles hesitated, not fully convinced. He'd had everything planned out. The perfect proposal, almost everything had been set and now... He wanted the best for Kyra and he wasn't sure that was possible at the moment.

»Charles, dear...« Lucy sighed, producing her phone from her pocket.

With a few simple taps she opened her chat with him and then turned the screen so it was facing the man. Blindly she scrolled through it, showing him the twenty unanswered messages. All of them from the night before. All questions.

What if he'd ordered the wrong flowers? Was his plan too cheesy? What if Kyra wouldn't like the ring after all? Should he wait for sunset? What wording was the best (multiple options followed)? And so on...

»I can't do another day of this. So please, for the love of god, propose to her on Sunday.« Lucy tried to say the words with as much love as she could muster up.

In a few short steps she was over by Charles and put her hands on his shoulders. One squeeze and she felt the tension dissolve from them.
