Hello and welcome to the bonus chapter!!This is Charles and Kyras engagement, so I'll get to write about them again (which I liked but it wasn't very easy to go from the Lucy and Max angst to this... maybe that's why it took me so long to write).
Anyway, enjoy!

»Charles Leclerc wins the Monaco grand prix to achieve his dream!«

»Charlie, slow down!« Kyra was still laughing, but put up a bit of resistance as her boyfriend dragged her through deserted streets of Monaco.
Barely four hours ago Charles Leclerc had won his home race, fulfilling one of his biggest dreams... and now he was hell bent on going somewhere with Kyra alone. Due to the current situation - which included a city wide cop search for the young woman - they'd agreed to meet up somewhere quiet.
But Kyra had expected it to be more of a quick "hello, congratulation" and a couple of kisses before the Monegasque would go off and celebrate with his team. The people who'd supported him and made it possible for him to achieve what he'd done today.
She'd been wrong. As soon as Charles had arrived at the spot they'd previously agreed on, he'd desperately tried to go somewhere with her. Kyra had barely had time to congratulate him properly!
»Charles!« She dug her heels into the ground, bringing both of them to a halt.
Reluctantly Charles stopped pulling on her hand and turned around. For a moment he looked almost annoyed by the interruption of whatever he was trying to do, but the frown disappeared as soon as he looked at his girlfriends confused smile. He gave her hand a squeeze. Kyra noticed his finger trembling against hers.
»Baby, where are we going? You should be off, celebrating with the team! I'm sure Fred is already wondering-«
»No, he's not, because I'm celebrating with you tonight. Only you.« Charles said, doing his best to keep his voice stable. Unlike his body, which had failed him by trembling and sweating all over.
But there wasn't much he could do. Until the moment he'd ask her to marry him, he'd be a nervous mess. And Kyra interrupting him sure wasn't helping.
»That sounds great, but Charlie-« Kyra let her gaze wander.
They were by the ocean on a walkway shielded by buildings and a rustic brick wall. It didn't take her more than two seconds to recognize where they were. It was a rout they often took on their nightly walks.
They'd discovered it during winter break and had come here often since. A couple hundred meters down was a cute, small pier. Judging by the brittle wood and clams seaming the waterline touching the stakes supporting it, it had been out of use for a while. It was the perfect place for Kyra and Charles to have quiet moments. One of the few times they could be out in public without having to deal with paparazzi or screaming fans.
»You should be with them. They are the people who helped you get that win.« She continued, having to apply logic to try and convince Charles (and the inherent selfish part of her that really wanted him to herself( of what she was saying. »And I could get arrested at any moment, which I don't necessarily want you to see. So please, go and meet Carlos. Go wild. Hit a club. Get wasted on expensive vodka.«
