Hey guys, kind of a filler/introduction (to the next problem) chapter. I know, probably a bit boring when you're just here for the Lucy and Max stuff, but I tried to give them some moments. Also I wrote this entire thing at work today on the computer, so I'll make it look nice later.
Hope you'll enjoy it anyway!

Lucy's diary
I feel weird.
Like don't get me wrong, sleeping with Max was amazing and the after was great too. We cuddled and he made me dinner (sweet, but the man can't cook). He even let me watch one of my romcoms with me while we were eating. So up to that point I was feeling great.
And then I got home, sat down on my bed and just started crying. I don't know why. It just came so suddenly and laster for a solid half hour.
I'm sure that some psychological self-reflection would get me an answer, but I'm too tired for that. And Charles and Kyra are coming home tomorrow, so I'd rather not go through an existential crisis right now.
For all I care it's just my regular depression acting up.•

»I still can't believe it was all fake.« Christian Horner said, a hint of sadness swinging in his voice.
What he was referencing was the fake relationship between Kyra and Max. Lucy'd published the article revealing that the day before. Of coure both the Redbull and the Ferrari team principals had been warned previously, but somehow Christian was still processing. For the twentieth time in a twenty-four hour time span he scrolled through the article on his phone as if the words "just kidding" would suddenly appear at the end of it.
Lucy, standing next to him in the garage, forced a small smile and said, »Well, but even if it wasn't, they'd been broken up for quite a while, so this doesn't really change anything. Right?«
»Yes, it does!« Christian said loudly.
He realized when a bunch of people turned their heads around. Of course they all knew what it was about, the team principal had been very vocal about his disappointment.
In a more quiet tone he added, »I've always hoped they'd get back together. That Max would realize how good Kyra was for him and get over his pride. And maybe Kyra would notice that the Ferrari boy isn't as good for her as our Max...«
He sighed deeply, his eyes unfocused as he was imagining a future that would never happen. Lucy was glad he was distraced, because she needed a minute to get her face back under control. She felt her stomach cramp up with jealousy and a bitter taste spread in her mouth. She was well aware that it was idiotic, but something about Christian describing how perfect her cousin and the guy she had feelings for would be for eachother didn't sit right with her.
»You had this all planned out, huh?« She muttered bitterly.
»I had some help. There are these stories on the interent. I read a couple of them... some were sweet. Some idiotic. Some heartbreaking... but at least they ended up together in those, which is miles better than fake dating!«
Shocked Lucy spun her head around, mouth agape when she realized what Chrstian had just confessed to. She heard herself laugh out loud before she could stop it and quickly covered her mouth.
»What?«
»Christian-« Lucy took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down. »Did you read fanfiction about Max and Kyra?«
