Welcome to this very long and absolute nonsense chapter.

Honestly idk what I did here, let's figure out together!

Lucy's high tho and finally talks more, so enjoy!

Lucy's diary

I am high and I don't know if I like it. Well, I don't even really know if I'm actually high, but everyone says I am so... yey to that.
Hope I don't do anything weird.

If Lucy had known that convincing the RedBull team that her injuries stemmed from an accident was just the start, she might've just stayed at the hospital. She had to repeat the same lies again and again.

First to Charles and Kyra, who both ver very, very suspicious about the bruise on her jaw. Lucy was pretty sure her cousin still didn't fully believe her.

Then Oscar when they met up in his room that night. Luckily he was a lot less mistrustful and didn't waste too much time on questions. He preferred making use of the girls's high and take some videos of her lecture about proactive journalism. Whatever that was.

The next morning multiple drivers came up to her - Danny, Lando and some Lucy would have probably known by name had she not taken her next dose of pills - wanting to make sure she really was okay. By now she'd noticed how fast news traveled in the sport and just gave them smiled and some reassuring words.

Finally reaching the hospitality, Lucy wanted to retreat to her corner (she always picked a favorite at every track they went to), just to find an absurde amount of pillows had been put in it, along with some chocolate and water bottles. Confused she turned around, trying to find out who was responsible for the sweet gesture, but that was hard to do when greeted with about fifteen smiling faces.

Christian was the one to speak up, loosely gesturing towards her spot, »We thought you should be comfortable after Max texted me last night saying you had a fracture.«

Agreeing mumbling came from all around, getting Lucy to tear up. Never had she had anyone care about her well being like this, especially not a whole group of people. Quickly she tried to wipe the tears away, but it was too late.

»Oh no, what is it? Did we get the wrong corner?« Checo asked, coming over to give her a hug. With the struggling girl in his arms, the Mexican turned to his team and said, »I told you, guys!«

Mortified by the mistake, multiple people walked towards them with the intention of moving all the stuff to the opposite corner of the room.

»No- no, it's not that. It's the right corner and e-everything is perfect. Thank you all s-so much.« Lucy let out an short laugh, embarrassed by her emotional reaction. She definitely didn't want them to think they'd done anything wrong. »I'm just- Sorry, I'm just feeling feelings.«

They laughed with her, Checo pulling her a bit closer and Christian giving her shoulder a squeeze. Nobody noticed Max's presence until hr cleared his throat and asked, »Uhm, what's going on?«

Lucy's head snapped to the direction of the familiar voice, blushing when she found a pair of blue eyes looking directly at her. A little late she managed to put on a smile, wiping some stray tears of her face.
