---Daily Planet---
"This is Lois Lane with the Daily Planet, outside the gates of the White House, where we're seeing thousands of protesters demanding the federal government explain the recent nuclear weapons test as recent satellite imaging from commercial satellites and foreign nations has shown what appears to be a nuclear detonation, and the specs match that of the submarine-launched Trident II missile.
However, recent statements from the Pentagon say that it was used on the island chain of Santa Prisca, an island with no known inhabitants, and was the site of a controlled nuclear weapons test. Any information coming out to the contrary is to be considered misinformation, and an interagency investigation and report will be conducted and published for the public.
This also comes with recent leaks that Qurac, a long-term adversary of the United States, had been funding and arming Intergang with heavy weapons as well as manufacturing the power armour that was used during the nationwide attacks that killed thirty-thousand Americans.
As more of these leaks come out, the president has issued a declaration of war against the nation of Qurac in retaliation for the arming of the deaths of thousands of our fellow Americans. He has issued a four-month-long amnesty to allow the nation's leaders to turn themselves over to US custody before the invasion commences.
This comes with many defence contractors, including Amertek, being awarded several contracts to design power armour based on dozens of captured samples from the recent Intergang terror attacks. Prominent companies such as Opal Sea and Directorial have also been offered no-bid contracts from the Department of Defence to provide security for strategic locations in Qurac.
Is this a repeat of the current administration's controversial global war on terror, or have they learnt from the consequences of their previous aggressive foreign policy? Only time will tell, but we will be covering it as it unfolds live on the Daily Planet."

---Apartment---
A few days later
With his mission complete, Barnes returned to Clark's apartment, sitting down on the living room couch. As he watched the news, he looked over at Jon eating breakfast at the dinner table with bandages wrapped around several areas of his body, including his head.
"Jon, are you okay?" He asks, hoping his 'nephews' well-being is okay.
"Better than before," Jon says as he eats his food.
"Hmph, you want to be a bit late for school today? Maybe miss the first period?" Barnes says, leaning back on the couch as he spreads out his arms.
"Well, I have double math class first thing, so yeah. Let's go," Jon says as he finishes his pancakes, picking up his plate and putting it into the dishwasher as Barnes gets up, grabbing the keys for the hellcat as he puts on his shoes.
As Jon runs up with his school bag around his back, he opens the door and holds it onto the handle while looking at Barnes "Ladies First." He snickers while looking into his eyes, clearly being caught off guard by the classic joke.
"Dogs follow," Barnes says, smirking as he steps out of the door and into the corridor as Jon steps out as well.
Looking around the corridor, Barnes sees one face he least expected... Amanda Waller, and for all he knows, he has to do more work for her.
