Chapter 5 - He Got My Number

Who is He?
Is he Reece? Dean? Brian? Or Alec?

When we went back to our classes, I saw Dean and he was alone, not with Reece. As I saw him, I remembered that I will sit with him and I don't want it to be awkward, so I walked towards him.

"Hey", I greeted.

"Oh, hey"

"Just wanna let you know, you will sit with me in class"

"Oh? Okay. Who will be sitting with Reece?"

"It's Haley, you will know her soon."

Then we went to the class together, I tried to be friendly. I told him where will he sit soon when we got in class. Our conversation weren't that awkward actually, he was friendly, and also nice.

After school, Irene and I both walked out of the school. We met few of 9th graders that we missed, yeah we greeted them like normal people. I noticed Brian was with them and he smiled as he was staring at me but I just looked away and continued talking with Irene. After we talked a while, I wanted to go home so I waved at her and started walking home.

What I usually do after school is take a shower then just lay in my bed and scroll my phone. When I was scrolling Instagram then texted some of my friends, suddenly unknown number showed up on my phone.

"Hey, greetings. It's me Brian, remember me?"

Gosh it's Brian! How did he got my number?

Me:
"Hi, yeah. How did u got my number?"

Brian:
"I got it from Irene. I knew her earlier but we weren't really close."

Me:
"Got it"

Brian:
"It's good to know you, Kate :)"

Me:
"U too"

You're so boring, you know that?

You're just a brain, you know that?

As time flies, he kept texting me everyday, umm more like every minute I guess. But at school, he didn't say anything when we met. We were just staring and just walked past each other.

"Hey, Kate! Brian was looking for you!"

"Kate! Where is Brian?"

"Brian likes you!"

"Hi, Brian! I mean, Kate!"

"I ship Brate!"

"Brian is in the class if you're looking for him!"

Brian's friends just can't stop teasing me. Everytime I met them, all I heard was Brian, Brian and Brian. When Brian and I were in the same place, they were like "Brian, it's Kate!" or "Talk to her man" or stuffs like that. Yea I think I have a feeling for him, but I can't like him. Our religion is different, and religion is number one for me. So guess I will just try to avoid him more.

"I think he likes you, Kate, and I ship you both!", Irene teased me.

"Yeah right, but our religion is different, you know me"

"Do you like him?"

"No, why?"

"Oh nothing, why don't you give him a chance? He's not that bad though"

"Yeah he's not and I told you my reason"

Irene rolled her eyes, maybe she was bored with my answer.

"So Kate, you're with Brian now?", one of my teachers asked me. I haven't answer yet, but... "Ahhh why don't you tell me? I think both of you will be cute together!"

REALLY? Should everyone always talk about him every second??? I think I'm gonna throw up if I heard that name once again.

All I said to my teacher was "No" and the half of the class were laughing. I really don't want everybody to think that I'm with him. Cause I'm not! I tried to avoid him, ignore him and forget him, but how could I? People always talked about Brian if they see me, even the 7th grader. I think the whole middle school knew the gossip. I don't like this situation. All I can do is try to avoid Brian and his friends.

When I was at home, Brian texted me again, as usual.

Brian:
"Do you have plans for tonight?"

Me:
"No, why?"

Brian:
"Wanna eat with me?"

He is asking you out! Please say yes!

Me:
"Too lazy to go out, sorry"

Brian:
"Its ok, take care :)"

The first reason why I rejected is, you know I tried to avoid him. The second is, oh I think my dad would kill me, or maybe kill Brian. The third, I really am too lazy to go out, lol.

I've been thinking of ways to make him stay away from me. And the first thing that popped into my head was make him jealous.

The next day at school, I've been thinking about my plan. I was talking with my good friend, Joe, and when I looked outside the window, Brian was sitting in front of my class with his friends. This is it!

"Joe, wanna go to the canteen?"

"Yeah, sure"

When we walked out of the class, I took a glance at him to see if he noticed me or not. He noticed! So I just looked away and enjoyed my time. Really? Enjoyed? I felt he was still staring at me. I hope he was jealous.
