I stood by the window of my office, staring out at the shimmering lights of Manila. The city felt alive tonight, its energy pulsing through me as I reflected on how far I’d come.

Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala, this life I was living as the CEO of Eylan  Motors, the top car company in the country.

Matthias walked in, his familiar presence grounding me in the moment. I turned to him, a smile tugging at my lips as the memories flooded back.

“Matthias,” I began, my voice soft with nostalgia, “Do you remember when I first started as a financial manager?”

He laughed, that warm, comforting sound that had been a constant through all my highs and lows. “Oo naman, what's with the question?” he said, stepping closer, his eyes shining with pride.

“You were so determined to prove yourself, and you did. You became a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Certified Management Accountant—and now, look at you. The number one CEO in the car industry.”

“But I couldn’t have done it without you, Matthias. You're a great mechanical engineer, after all.”

He smiled, his thumb gently brushing over my knuckles. “We did this together, Zaylee. And I wouldn’t have wanted to do it with anyone else. Anyways look at the progress of our new product– the Terre. "

The Terre was everything I’d ever dreamed of. Its sleek lines and aerodynamic design made it look like it was in motion even when standing still.

The lightweight carbon fiber body gleamed under the showroom lights, promising both speed and strength. Beneath the hood, the hybrid system was a work of art, blending the raw power of a turbocharged V8 with the quiet efficiency of electric technology.

Inside, every detail had been carefully considered from the supple leather seats to the AI-driven interface that felt almost intuitive, responding to the slightest touch and adapting to the driver’s every need.

Kailangan nito nang malaking halaga—far more than Eylan Motors could afford on its own. I didn't learn finance for nothing.

That’s when I thought of Lumiere Dynamics—the tech giant that had been making waves in sustainable energy and robotics.

“How’s it going with Lumiere Dynamics? Have they shown any interest in the partnership?”

Matthias voice came through, steady and reassuring, as always. “I’ve been in touch with Mr. Carter, their financial head manager. He said that their boss was intrigued by our proposed product and sees the potential in what we’re trying to achieve. But he wants to see more detailed projections and a prototype before they commit to anything.”

Inexpect ko naman na iyon. They are one of the successful company.

“Really? I’ll work on refining the proposal, and we’ll make sure the prototype blows them away.” while checking my papers.

His voice broke the comfortable silence, rich and calm. "Zaylee, would you do me the honor of having dinner with me tonight?"

I looked up, meeting his gaze. Matthias's eyes, usually so focused and intense.

His usual professional demeanor was replaced by a genuine, almost shy expression. Ba't kaya inaaya ako netong mag dinner?

A smile tugged at my lips, unbidden and sincere. "I’d love to," I replied, my voice carrying a warmth I didn’t bother to hide.
