I stood in front of the mirror, the sweet scent of my favorite perfume filled the air, a soft cloud of cucumber and melon. I carefully put my pink glittery blush on my cheeks. Today felt special, and I wanted my husband to notice me in my bright yellow dress.
I turned to him, perched on the edge of the bed, engrossed in his phone. "Hon! Anong ginagawa mo?" I said, twirling playfully, hoping to catch his eye.
Hindi ako nito tinapunan ng tingin. My heart sank a little, but I wasn’t ready to give up.
With a cheeky grin, I move closer, letting the fabric swish around my legs. "Hindi ba lovely ang dress ko hon?" I asked, striking a pose.
Still, wala pa rin siyang pake. Kaya kunware ay natawa nalang ako at hinayaan nalang siyang mag focus sa kung ano man ang ginagawa niya sa phone niya.
Finally, I leaned over him, planting my hands on his shoulders. “Hon!” I exclaimed, my voice teasing yet affectionate.
Sa wakas ay umagat din ang tingin niya pero dahil sa pikon ko ay hindi ko siya pinansin!

It took me three long days para magpa-pansin sa asawa ko. I mean, he was like this noong kaklase ko siya. But when we get married, talagang patay na patay siya sa akin. Sawa na kaya siya sa akin?
I wore my favorite yellow dress again. I spent extra time on my makeup, hoping he’d notice the way the sunlit hue matched my mood.
I twirled in front of him, calling out, “Hon! Is my look okay?” He glanced up for a moment, smiled absently, then went back to his laptop.
Lagi nalang siyang busy! Sana yung laptop nalang ang pinakasalan niya! My heart sank, but I brushed it off. Maybe he was just busy baka importante lang talaga.
The next day was worse. I adorned myself with shimmering eyeshadow and spritzed on the perfume, filling the room with sweetness.
I even baked his favorite spanish bread, setting them out on the table like a peace offering.
I slipped into the yellow dress again, feeling hopeful. But as I entered the living room, he was lost in a video game with our son. Their eyes glued to the screen.
I tried to catch his gaze, even waved my hands, but nothing broke his focus. So I decided to move closer to them planted a kiss to our son's cheek without looking at him.
I called our son's name. "Zach nak, come here. Mom baked something for you!"
"Why do you look so beautiful these past few days mom? I mean, you always look beautiful for me naman."
"Really? You sure hindi mo inuuto ang mom mo?" I pinched his cheeks.
"I would never mom."
I kissed my son's cheeks because he would always say the truth! Sa akin lang 'to nagmana ng kagwapuhan.
Hindi ko tinawag si Lachlan dahil nabi-bwisit ako sakaniya. Walang choice yung anak namin kung hindi ubusin lahat ng spanish bread. I also nibbled on a bread, trying to convince myself it was fine.
"Mabuti pa yung anak ko! Hindi tulad ng iba 'dyan!" as I said trying to make papansin to him.

Okay, Zaylee, new strategy. Maganda ka pa rin at ikaw pa rin ang mahal niyan!
Maybe he was just having a particularly busy day yesterday. So today, I was going to turn it up a notch. The dress? Hindi na yellow kundi red. The lipstick? Bold na at hindi na pa-cute. I was basically a walking model, and I wasn’t going to be ignored today. No way. Wag niya akong daanin sa pagiging nonchalant niya!
