Rumors

There were bustling individuals, cheerful tailors, and excited ladies and gentlemen. For the last two days of my life, I have spent time watching them. Maybe I'm not as joyful and tranquil while I'm wandering outside, for a reason that I only feel the quick pumping blood of my heart. I'm not exited a happy just like them.

My mind was so clouded that I can't prepare for that ball. Should I be happy?

Wala namang rason para maging masaya ako. Rumors from the newsprint's writers have been going around. The newsprint, inked inside, had sentences stating that Princess Diantha and her entire family had been invited. They were invited by the queen, and she mentioned that the ball might double as Princess Diantha and Ali's engagement celebration.

Baka mapahiya ko lang roon ang sarili ko kapag nagpunta pa ako. Aaasa pa ako.

Pinipilit pa ako ni Angelique and Bella. I told them that I have no reasons of going into that ball. I'm going to be a laughing stock of the land.

I'm going to Aunt Erona's boutique shop again to help her. Tapos ko na rin kasing asikasuhin ang mga order na mga bulaklak sa flower shop kaya bago pa matapos ang araw, I decided to help. Pagpasok ko sa loob ng shop ay sobrang abala nito dahil sa isang araw na gaganapin ang ball. Marami ang mga kumukuha ng mga dress na isususot. I saw Aunt Erona talking to someone.

Nilapitan ko ang mga empleyado niya at binati sila. "I'm going to help here today." Sabi ko sa kanila sabay ngiti.

They greeted me too and let me help them. I assisted some of the clients and showed them some ready made designs na pasok sa mga gusto nila. Different colors and designs.

"Rosette." Aunt Erona called.

"I didn't noticed you." She said. I smiled at her. "Are you here to get your dress? I already made you one." She added and smiled at me back.

My smile slowly faded away. I hummed. "I'm only here to help." I said to her and her smile erased from her face.

"Bakit? Aren't you planning to go to the ball?" She asked me seriously.

I sighed and pulled her into her office, where we can talk alone to each other. I run my fingers through my hair and looked at my aunt.

"Ayaw kong pumunta." Sabi ko sa kanya and she looked at me with disbelief.

Maybe, she didn't expected it.

Nameywang siya at saka umupo sa kanyang office chair. I heard the chair creaked, when she sat down. She crossed her arms and asked me. "At bakit? Ginawaan ko na kayong tatlo nina Angelique ng mga susuotin ninyo."

I bit my lower lip. "You know, Aunt Erona that you have a lot of costumers outside, waiting for you. Maybe we shouldn't talk about my reasons. I do have a lot and we're going to run out of time." I tried to avoid the topic in a good possible I can think of. I think she didn't know yet that Ali was the prince I'm seeing.

"Please, Rosette. I know you. I heard the rumors about crown prince Alistair. Naikwento na rin sa'kin ni Heart na sa kanya mo ibinigay ang hiningi mong apple of love. No need to hide it. Why aren't going to attend? Maybe this is your chance. Hindi naman sinabi roon kung sino ba talaga ang gustong pakasalan ni Prince Alistair." She said to me.

I forgot, that Heart is with my aunt all the time. Madaldal pa naman si Heart. Kaya naman hindi malabong hindi niya sinabi kay Aunt Erona. Sa susunod talaga bibigyan ko siya ng pagdikit ng bibig.

"Iyon na nga e. We didn't know. Paano kung hindi ako? Sawa naman na akong umasa. Ali is unreachable. He's a crown prince and I'm not a princess. He deserved someone that they will b proud of." I said to her.
