~Chapter 6~

Unsurprisingly, his nervousness crept up again as he made his way to the restaurant. It's been a while since he'd even been on a date. What do people even do? He laughed, thinking to himself. He was kidding himself, thinking he could do this. Despite this, there wasn't enough fear and doubt to make him turn the car around.

And before he knew it, he was parked outside the restaurant, locking his doors as he walked up the ascending stairs to the entrance. His palms awkwardly sweating, and his heart frantically pounded out his chest. The low, constant reminders to breathe, knowing he was holding it in as he anxiously walked up to the hostess.

"Hi, um.. reservation for..for Kim," he stuttered out.

"Kim..Kim, Oh yes. Right this way," she smiled, extending her arm towards her right. Chan smiled back, nodding as he started walking in that direction.

It was definitely a date restaurant. He had never heard of it, nor would he ever find himself here on his own. The red bouquets of roses on every table, secluded black circular booths, small whispered chatter, and an abundance of opened wine bottles. Suddenly, he felt underdressed.

"Just right up here," the hostess said, shaking him out of his thought.

"Oh, Thank you," he smiled politely, bowing to her.

"My pleasure, enjoy, sir," she bowed back before leaving him. He took another one of those short, quick breaths as he stepped to the table. Seungmin instantly smiled as he saw him, the cutest puppy smile he'd ever seen.

"Mr. Home Run," he cheerfully called as he stood up from the booth.

"Wow.." the only thing that came out of Chan's mouth as he looked over his figure. Finally, having another image of him to flood his mind, one out of his sports uniform. One that he could fully take in. And it was even better than he imagined. He stood slightly taller than himself, not enough for it to matter to him; he liked the little distance between the two. His body was slimmer but looked firm, likely because of baseball. His shoulders were broader than he imagined they'd be. He was gorgeous in his eyes. It's almost like he got more attractive every time he saw him.

"Wow," he giggled as he sat back down.

"I'm sorry," Chan nervously laughed, sitting down as well. You...you just look good," he shyly added as he removed his jacket.

"Thank you, I'm flattered," Seungmin softly smiled at him. "Wow," he slowly let out as he watched him sit the jacket beside him.

"What."

"Who knew you were hiding all that under that hoodie," he lustily smirked as he stared at his chest, practically drooling as he undressed him with his eyes.

"Stop, it's just a black tee," Chan said shyly, raising his arms across his chest.

"Now I can't wait for later," he winked.

"For what," he nervously questioned.

"So I can see what else you're hiding," he nonchalantly teased as he signaled over the waiter. Chan's eyes widened, his cheeks almost instantly burning red by his forwardness. What!! You brought it up first," he laughed, defending himself.

"Good evening," the waitress blithely greeted as she approached the table. Can I start you two off with water??" She smiled, clicking her pen and bringing out her notepad.

"Let's see," Seungmin started, picking up his drinks menu. Hey Chan, do you drink??" He shook his head as he equally looked down, burying his face in his menu. Too embarrassed to look either of them in the eye. Seungmin lightly laughed, noticing this. He was really enjoying this shy side of him; it was cute.

"Can we start with two glasses of water and two glasses of wine," he ordered, setting down his menu.

"Okay, and you're wine of choice," she asked after jotting it down.

"Coeur de Vigneronne, please."

"Coeur de Vigneronne," she softly repeated. Okay, I'll be back shortly." She smiled at the two. Seungmin softly smiled back as he watched her leave before giving his attention back to Chan.

"Y-You drink??" he asked, looking up at him, quickly looking away at the sudden eye contact.

"Not wine," he replied almost disgustedly. But this is definitely not a beer type of establishment," he laughed, looking around at the serenity of the space.

"Then why did you order it??"

"You're not the only one nervous. I need some "liquid courage." he laughed. Chan lightly chuckled at the comment as he sat his menu flat on the table. "Oh look, is that a smile??" Seungmin quickly pointed out, leaning over the table on his arm. "Stop hiding. You don't have to be shy with me," he softly said, pulling his hand from his face.

"I can't help it," Chan playfully whined, dropping both his arms onto the table. Feeling almost uncomfortable under his soft gaze, his cheeks still a faint shade of pink as he matched his eye contact.

"Here, put your hands up like this," Seungmin proposed, raising his arms for him to match.

"Okay," Chan innocently compiled. Seungmin smiled as he leaned closer and interlocked their hands together, pulling his arms down and resting them flat on the table.

"A little closer," he lowly said, pulling him entirely into the table, closer to him.

"How is this supposed to help??" he laughed at the gesture.

"Honestly, I wasn't expecting you to let me hold your hands," Seungmin laughed back.

"It's okay.." He quickly said, looking down at their hands, stopping him from pulling away. I actually really like it." he smiled, squeezing his hands a little tighter.

"So you're a physical type of guy," he flirty said.

"Seungmin!!"

"Relax. I meant like hugs and holding hands," he said, emphasizing the last part by raising their still interlocked hands to him.

"Oh right," he stupidly laughed at himself.

"Teasing you shouldn't be this easy,"

"It normally isn't," he sucked his teeth, realizing how stupid he must look at the moment.

"Then why is it," he curiously asked, sitting back against the booth, crossing his arms in front of his chest.

"Because..I mean..you.." Chan stupidly panicked. ~~
