Enna could not sleep. Would anyone in her situation have been able to? She tossed and turned.
Hope watched from her bed, Enna thinking she was asleep. Which she was until a moment ago, it was currently 4AM.
She watched as Enna got out of bed. She tensed for a moment, she might have believed she girl was good but she wasn't sure what Enna could possibly be doing.
Enna grabbed the sheets from her bed and yanked them to the floor along with a pillow. Hope watched, confusion filling her face as Enna made a makeshift bed on the floor. Enna proceeded to lay down and get comfortable on the floor.
Hope thought she might still be asleep and was dreaming this whole thing until it hit her. She probably didn't have beds when she lived in a hut. She wasn't used to them. This was the only rational explanation Hope could think of. She happened to be right.
Not to mention to Enna the mattress was a reminder of how different everything was. It reminded her where and when she was, something that didn't help her sleep. As long as she was on the floor she could pretend she was still in her village, that in the morning her mother would come wake her up. Convince herself that she was imagining the entire modern world, that everyone and everything she knew was still alive and around.
Sadly, that wasn't the case. She knew that which is why she barely slept that night.

In the morning the sun peeked through the windows waking Enna up. That was what she was used to, except her mother would be there.
There was a moment, one moment before she opened her eyes where she had forgotten everything that had happened, forgot that it had been over a thousand years. The moment lasted as quickly as it left.
She put the sheets back on the bed before she sat down on it.
She spotted Hope still sound asleep in her bed. She wondered if she should wake her but ultimately decided against it.
She looked around the room and saw a couple modern devices, all of which freaked her out. She touched none.
When she saw pictures she tried waving but there was obviously no response. She worried for the people in the frames, wondered if the could get out and if they were alright.
She saw a small television, wondered why there was a black box that didn't appear to have any sort of use.
She saw a dresser, wondered how it opened.
Saw a laptop, thought it was a tablet to carve markings into.
Then her attention was on Hope's phone which had started making a dreadful noise. She hadn't the slightest idea of its purpose. It woke Hope up and she turned off the alarm.
"Good morning" Hope greeted.
"Good morning"
"What are you doing up?"
"The sun is out." Enna responded simply, Hope just nodded.
"I'll get us some clothes to change into." Said Hope as she got out of bed. She was picking out some clothes when they heard a thud from the balcony.
Hope made her way towards the balcony and Roman's face came into view and Enna's eyes widened slightly .
"Marshall" he spoke, must be Hope's surname. She couldn't imagine how he got up there or why he would in the first place. Hope seemed to know him so she wasn't too concerned. On the other hand she didn't really know Hope or what her intentions were.
