PART 52: PROPOSAL

CHRIS'S POV

Amelia stayed silent as I just looked over to her she seemed deep in thought and I didn't want to interrupt her peace. I know that this must be hard for her because this is the place where they were she told me. Her brother and her used to play here as kids all the time...it must be so tough for her to grasp this feeling.

She sat there looking at the view in silence as she held her mug in her hands trying to warm it. I then got up slowly and fetched a blanket from the car, slowly putting it around her. She seemed really deep in thought I couldn't tell what she was thinking.

Amelia then snapped out and looked at me with a pleasant smile.

"Are you okay?" I question

"Yea...just thinking..." she says looking down at her coffee

"Mhmm..." is all I am able to say

It was getting quiet late as I waited for midnight to show her the surprise what I was intially planning to do was, when I told her if we would want to get married she agreed, but I felt as if it wasn't special and that I wanted to make it better somehow.

So I decided to change plans and propose to her the right way and plan our wedding right away as soon as I possibly can. Then there were just dark clouds and stars in the sky as we both looked up in surprise as I look seeing her watching the stars. I kept on staring at her and thinking how amazing she is, yet there's so much more I want to give her in this world.

"Look! A shooting star!" she says pointing in excitement

"Oh, I think I missed that one." I said in sadness

"It's alright." Amelia says keeping her eyes on the stars looking up

I then knew it was the time to tell her now or never.

"Amelia...there's something I need to tell you." I say stumbling over my words but managing to speak confidently

"Yes?" she questions looking at me as we make eye contact

"Remember when you said yes that you want to marry me remember? Well I thought that wasn't the exact way I wanted it to go....us ending in a bad way and everything that has happened over the past couple of months, I sigh and paused, it wasn't good between us and now I want to ask you the right way..." I say as I stand up

I stand up and so does she and her face is just in confusion at what I was talking about, Amelia looked clueless and understood nothing. I then got onto one knee and then took out a small red box with a gold caret ring.

"Amelia...would you make me the happiest man in the world, and marry me?" I ask with the biggest smile on my face

"Yes!!!!" she shouts as I then stand up and we hug each other

"I know that...I already asked you but I felt like doing it over you know? I didn't do it the right way so I th- I get cut off

"No don't be silly. It's alright and it's perfect everything is perfect, even this moment right now. I can't express to you how happy I am!" she jumps up in joy

AMELIA'S POV

When I had heard Chris was going to plan this I never thought it would come to this right now. I remember that he asked me the exact question months ago, but I guess he wanted it to be magical and when at that time he asked me he didn't think it was good enough.

"I didn't have a ring on me....and that felt stupid for some reason I wanted it to be epic..." he says sighing

"It's okay. It's epic now." I say smiling at him

"I love you." he says chuckling

"I love you too." I say smiling back

"I want to get us married as soon as possible." he says

"I know that you've been thinking that I've been distancing you for a while now...but I promise it wasn't that I was planning all of this, the documents, wedding arrangements and everything. I know the way I had planned it, is completely different now. Our friends are dead we only have a few left both of us in fact. I know it's so hard." he says with regret in his eyes

I just stopped and processed that in my head now what he had just told me. All along I thought that he was doing other things behind my back, when he was planning this all along? Do I not trust him? I just took a moment to calm myself and think that he did all of this just for me and he wanted it to be special.

"Hey...I never wanted this too okay? This was all Cole's fault in fact I shouldn't say that I should blame myself it was me." I say avoiding eye contact

"What?" he says in his serious tone and put his hand on my chin making eye contact with me

"What do you mean?" he says sternly

"If I hadn't met Cole...and I wasn't with that awful guy then none of this would have happened..." I say sobbing

"No...no...don't say such things, I know his a bad guy but you never knew the truth so none of this is your fault. You never knew anything about him so, you are not at fault it's not you to blame Amelia." he says with his serious tone of voice
