After a restful night and peaceful morning, Ash and May continued their journey. Unfortunately, they found themselves walking through dense fog on their way to Virbank City. "I don't know, Ash, this fog doesn't feel right. Remember the last time this happened," May held Ash's hand tighter. Pikachu became stern and observant. They anticipated Cloud or another member of his organization to pop out of nowhere.

"Lit...," said a chilling voice.

"What was that?" May looked around. The fog swallowed more of the forest until they couldn't even see the trees.

"Wick..." another ghostly voice echoed.

Ash and May pressed against each other. Pikachu prepared for anything. Victini hid behind Ash's head. The Fire-type feared what could happen, "Show yourself!" Ash demanded.

"Pika pi!" Pikachu pointed ahead of them.

The group focused on a shimmer of light approaching them. "What's that?" May squinted her eyes.

"Pikachu, get ready," Ash's Pikachu leaped off his shoulder.

When the light was close enough, a figure revealed itself. It resembled a candle with a purple flame on its head. "Litwick," the Pokémon smiled when it saw the group.

Ash, May, Victini, and Pikachu were surprised by the innocent-looking Pokémon. "We were scared of this little guy?" May sighed with relief.

"Guess so," Ash laughed. He kneeled to wave at it, "Hi, there."

"Lit," Litwick smiled back.

"Vi," Victini remained suspicious of the Pokémon.

"No need to be afraid, Victini. It won't hurt us," Ash assured the small Fire-type, but Victini wasn't convinced.

May reached for her Pokédex, "I wonder what Pokémon it is."

"Litwick, the Candle Pokémon. Litwick appears to be helping to guide the way of people by illuminating darkened areas, but in reality, they are leading them to the Ghost World. They feed off the life energy of people and Pokémon, which they use as fuel for the flames on their heads," the Pokédex stated.

May returned her Pokédex, "For a cute Pokémon, it sure sounds creepy."

"Well, it is a Ghost Pokémon," Ash disregarded what the Pokédex said. He inched his face closer to Litwick, "Nice to meet you."

"Wick lit," Litwick extended its hand.

"It does seem pretty friendly," May observed the interaction between Ash and Litwick.

Ash and Litwick shook hands. Suddenly, Litwick's eyes turned devious. "Litwick," the Pokémon said with an ominous tone. On command, a dozen Litwick surrounded the group in a circle.

"What's going on?" May was alarmed by the sinister gazes.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu threatened to shock the devious Litwick.

"Victini," Victini hid behind May's head and hugged it out of fear.

"Litwick!" the Pokémon pulled its arm back. Each Litwick shot out a small blue orb.

Ash and May got encircled by the orbs. "Huh?" the couple stepped back. The next second, they dropped to the ground asleep.

Pikachu also fell victim to the orbs and fell asleep. However, Victini managed to avoid them. The frightened Victory Pokémon saw the group of Litwick approaching it as it helplessly tried to awaken its parents. Tears forming in its eyes, "Victini v vi."
