"...10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15"
The door suddenly swung open, revealing a black silhouette walking in the room. It was as quick as lightning that even Green didn't get a chance to stop what he was currently doing.
The figure stopped its pace, crossing his arms as he asked, "What are you doing?"
Green immediately stood with his head bowed, slightly covering his naked body, "Y-Your Majesty.....This is....."
"Why are you pulling out the hair on your armpit?"
Halos maiyak sa kinatatayuan niya si Green, if only it was someone else like a fellow teacher of him or a student he could have easily erased their memory in a snap. But now, the one who witnessed the most embarrassing moment of Master Green is none other than His Majesty, the Dragon King!
I've been doing this for a thousand years and only now did I feel ashamed that I have the weirdest habit of all, Master Green thought.
Green forced a convincing smile then he replied, "T-That is what you call a self-care routine, Your Majesty! You know, humans pull out the hair on their armpits to take care of their skin."
Vincenzo lifted his chin up, placing his hands behind him, "....And counting them?" His voice sounds doubtful.
Just when he was about to sigh in relief, his eyes widened and his face turned red as he heard the King's question.
He just doesn't know how to answer that, naisip niyang kahit gawain nga 'yon ng mga taong mortal, he was still the weirdest among them. Who would be in their right mind to count every strand of hair on their armpits?! Only a real lunatic would do something embarrassing and unhygienic like that!
"Humans are the weirdest. I can't believe you're also doing it," Vincenzo turned his back and sat on the couch, the moment his gaze looked at the window, the curtains swished open and the view of the starry night revealed.
Of all people, why would it have to be the Dragon King?!
"Have you found any news, Your Majesty?" Green asked politely with his head bowed.
Vincenzo’s broad shoulders, stretched as he rested his arms across the back of the couch, made him appear even more imposing. The room grew silent, heavy with tension, as Green realized that Vincenzo still hadn’t found the reincarnation of the Moon Goddess. Lost in thought, Vincenzo stared at the night sky, his fingers absently fidgeting with his lower lip as if searching for an answer just out of reach.
Unable to bear the weight of the silence any longer, Green cleared his throat and spoke up, “Ehem… Your Majesty, if I may—why do you believe the reincarnation of the late Moon Goddess is here?”
At last, Vincenzo seemed to acknowledge him, drawing his hand away from his lips. His voice, though quiet, carried the gravity of ancient memories. “Because,” he murmured, his eyes never leaving the stars, “....this is where it all began.”
