The week went by with a blink of an eye and it was Friday again. As I try to prepare for finals, I also try to help Hernandez out as much as I can cause he's really tensed about a lot of subjects.

It's been a rough week and I've been dreading my own house and neighborhood. My house mainly for my mum cause we haven't patched things up yet and my neighborhood.. for Noah, it's like he's also avoiding me as much as I've been avoiding him.

I sigh as I look down at my sketch book. The unfinished work looks right back at me.

"Is that a cat?",

I look up to see a brunette covered in a beige sweater with thick rim glasses staring down at me. I'm starting to think she changes the lenses occasionally.

"Oh uh yeah", I say.

"Kinda looks like Pepe",

I look behind Callie to see a buzz cut boy wearing a double sleeved shirt and baggy jeans. Guess he's finally wearing normal clothes.

"Who's Pepe?", Callie asks as they both take a seat on the bleachers. Hernandez moves to sit next to me causing a slight bend to appear on Callie's eyebrows.

"My cat", he answers as he stuffs his burrito into his mouth. Surprisingly, he likes food just like me but there's no sign of it. Does he workout? Or does he just have fast metabolism?.

"Oh..", Callie says then gets closer to see the sketch book, "Yeah she looks kinda fat".

"Nah, Abby's just being nice, she's fat as hell", Hernandez reassures her as he chews.

I nudge him, "Stop body shaming her".

He wipes the corner of his mouth with his sleeves and with a full mouth he sincerely says, "Sorry".

I look down at the drawing, "Say that to Pepe".

"So..", I trail, breaking the silence that had ensued, "How's um your dad?".

"Well that's the oddest thing to ask", she says then adds, "But I'm pretty sure he's doing super great since he's having so much fun destroying my life".

A solid frown takes over her demeanor and I regret bringing her dad up.

"I'm sure he just wants the best for you", I slowly say and she scoffs.

"Yeah no", she says discarding her lunch to the side. Must have lost her appetite.

"You guys have been so moody since that party", Hernandez says and we turn to him with bitter looks. "How bout we lighten the mood, head somewhere after school".

"I can't", Callie painfully admits. "I'm grounded",

"Shoot", he says then looks at me so I shrug. "How familiar is your dad with Abby?".

Callie and I exchange confused looks.

"This isn't gonna work, I'm going to get into bigger trouble", Callie says for the umpteenth time.

"We heard you the last ten times negative Nancy", Hernandez says, rolling his eyes as he imputes the numbers into his phone.

"Abby tell him this isn't going to work", Callie holds on to me giving my arm a slight shake.

"Hernandez maybe this isn't-",

He cuts me off with a finger on his lips. Hernandez clears his throat as we hear a hello from the other side.

"Hello..", Hernandez's deep voice rings into our ears and leaves our jaws on the floors. Why does he sound like Michael B fucking Jordan?.

Callie squeezes my arm as her eyes widen in shock.
