Sarthak's POV

I pressed the accelerator to match the car's speed with that of my racing heart.

Bhabhi called me to inform Prerna was in a temple. I do not know what she is doing there at this hour but what I know was this woman is so infuriating.

Who runs away just because of an argument?

Reaching the temple, I got out of the car and ran to the temple's stair only to stop midway when I saw Prerna descending down to me. She waved back at a lady with a wide smile and I squinted my eyes at her.

How the fuck can she smile after making everyone mad worried about her?

She reached me and walked past me without even paying me a single glance, making me even more pissed.

She opened the door of the passenger seat but before she could sit inside, I half closed the door.

She gave me an exasperated look as if I was the abnormal one here.

"What the fuck is wrong with you, Prerna?" I yelled at her. She sighed while looking up at the stars before turning her face to me. Placing her hands on her hips, she waited for me to bark more.

"Where the hell have you been all day? Where did you go? Why were you not picking up the calls? Do you even know how worried we were? How can you be so irresponsible?"

She did not reply to any of my questions.

My veins were at the verge of exploding. I was so fucking scared for her and she was here. In a temple. And that too with some unknown women.

I was looking for her. The police is searching for her. My whole family was mad worried. And she did not even look guilty.

Prerna's carefree, or I should say careless, attitude was just adding more to my anger.

"Say something, dammit!" I yelled at her and punched the door furiously. She stood unmoved, unaffected. Her uninterested eyes were lazily looking into mine.

"Don't lie." She drawled, clicking her lips, as if I was a being dramatic and she did not had any time for drama. "You were doing anything but worrying about me."

"This is not a joke, Prerna. Be serious." I said through my gritted teeth.

She held up her palm, stopping me mid-sentence, and pointed at my eyes.

"You were sleeping, I can tell." She replied before placing her hands on her hips again.

I touched the corner of my eyes and cleaned the eye mucus. Embarrassing.

"Prerna, do not try to wave me off-"

"I am not trying. I am waving you off." She said sassily, making faces and I resisted the urge to shake her to the reality and take things seriously.

"Prerna you-"

"Sarthak. Shut up." She sighed. "I had a very long and bad day, and I am not in the mood to argue with you again so do not use that tone with me. Sit inside and drive us back. There you can yell at whichever wall you like, okay? Okay."

She sat inside and shut the door at my face.

This WOMAN!

Anything could have happened to her. Any-fucking-thing. Just thinking about the worst makes me shudder and she was so uncaring about it. How?

I walked around and sat in the driver's seat. Igniting the engine, I glared at Prerna but she was looking out the window with her sleepy eyes.

Her carelessness and icked me so much.
