Sarthak's POV
"Bye, Prerna ji." The door closed but her essence remained.
She was in the company after a long time. But I still don't get to see her here in person because she leaves as soon as her work is over.
I rubbed a hand across my shirt where she touched me. Not going to lie but it was amazing. The way she frowned and pulled me closer was enough to give me the peace and spark for a lifetime.
Her touch was like fire against my skin. I didn't think it would turn out to be such a wonderful moment when I secretly tangled her hair in my button, but it did. And God, I love it.
The way she scolded me with authority was way too much for my little heart to handle. Her frown, her fierce eyes and annoyed expressions had too much effect on me than I would like.
Whistling to myself, I reached the ground floor and went to the security room.
As expected, only half of them were working while the other half were busy in playing cards and eating snacks.
"Sir," one of them noticed me and everyone instantly hide their cards.
They looked at each other nervously as I pinned all of them with a pointed look and strolled lazily towards them.
"Rajat," I gave a hard pat on the junior security officer's shoulder. "How many times do I have to repeat the same thing?" I pressed his shoulder making him wince.
"S-sorry, sir." He stammered and tried to get out of my grip. Tried being the keyword. "I was about to call you." I left him with a jerk.
"Give me the cards." I sat with them with my legs folded. "And if I ever find you guys playing without me again. I will complain about you to Dad." I warned and munched a snack.
I have given clear instructions to invite me in their games. But they still don't and it's annoying. I hate repeating myself again and again.
They never win when I play but how does it even matter? Just enjoy the game, dude. What's with this losing and winning shit.
"Sorry, sir." They said in unison.
I nodded and began to shuffle the cards and distributed them accordingly.
"Oh, brother." I whistled to gain the CCTV operator's attention. "Let me see the live footage of corridor outside Bhabhi's office." I said and he complied.
"Let's go." We began to play while I was time to time checking the monitor to see if Prerna came outside or not.
I would love to see her one last time before she leaves as I don't get a chance to meet her often.
We played for about an hour and, as always, I won every single hand but none of the other players looked interested in the game. They looked bored and forced to play.
"Why so grumpy, guys?" I asked and stuffed my mouth with roasted peanuts.
"You are cheating." Rajat tsked and I scoffed.
"Cheating? Me?" I threw my cards at the accusations. "If your luck isn't with you then it's not my fault."
Well, I only cheated in three rounds, I won the remaining two on my own. How could he say that?
"How come no one else ever win when you are playing?" He reasoned and I shook my head.
"That's really unbecoming, Rajat. If you guys can't bear losing then quit playing altogether, okay?" I said and my eyes fell on the computer that showed Prerna walking out.
