Prerna's POV
"You are cheating!" Naina exclaimed, throwing the cards on Sarthak's face. "I don’t want to play with you."
I chuckled, seeing Sarthak flinch and blink in confusion at the sudden but unexpected attack. Well, my innocent man did not cheat this time, but whatever.
My chuckle immediately vanished behind a fake cough when Sarthak glared at me a little too hard.
I gave him an innocent smile and turned to face Naina who was trying to lean back in the bed. I placed a pillow behind her back, and she sat a little uncomfortably because of her huge belly.
Naina was in the eighth month of her pregnancy and rounder than she has ever been, which was why she was having a hard time doing the simplest tasks.
Time flies so fast, doesn't it? It feels like it was yesterday when I got married and came to this family.
Eight months passed so fast amidst adjusting in this family, figuring out myself and looking after my mother, who was still healing from the tortures inflicted upon her.
"Let's play something else then." Dipti suggested. "What about truth or dare? Sarthak bhai loves it." she wiggled her eyebrows suggestively at Sarthak, who responded with a whine.
Naina, Dipti and I laughed together. The last time he played truth or dare, it did not go well. He still gets teased with his oh so awsome dance video. He must regret that dance every day and night.
"You guys need to get over the past, seriously." Sarthak said with a annoyed scowl on his face but agreed to play nonetheless.
Naina downloaded a spinning wheel app in her phone and placed it in the centre of the bed and announced. "At whoever this arrow stops on will become the prey."
The wheel spun and stopped at Dipti. Naina and I immediately smirked and glanced at each other before looking at Dipti through our lashes.
We knew something she had been trying so hard to hide from everyone but we wanted to confirm it and this was a perfect chance.
"Dare." Dipti announced and Naina's hand snapped out.
"Give me your phone." Naina said all the colours on Dipti's face vanished as if she did not suggest the game herself.
Sarthak looked disinterested in everything, judging by the way he was biting onto his nails.
When Dipti took too long to comply, Naina snatched the phone from her side. The phone was locked but it took Naina only three attempts to unlock it because that was how predictable Dipti was.
Naina clicked her tongue in disappointment and looked at Dipti. "You could’ve put a little more effort while setting the password."
"I'm too dumb to remember them." Dipti confessed, making me raise my brows.
Dipti, who can calculate accounts worth of crores in seconds, who has a firm grip on every subject she has ever studied, cannot even remember a password? Strange.
"Tsk, duffer." Sarthak muttered under his breath and earned a hard smack from Dipti.
"At least I did not fail the fourth standard." Dipti mocked, giving me new information about my husband.
I gave Sarthak a side eye and he laughed awkwardly as if Dipti has accused a crime which he did commit but will never admit.
"I failed in only one subject!" He justified himself, looking fine but sounding internally wounded.
