Meadows POV

I laid in Scarlett's lap as the other caregivers gathered the others. I play with her hair as she holds me, I felt comfortable. I felt safe.

I wanted to stay in her arms, I didn't want to be put down anytime soon. "Ok everyone let's go, why don't yall come over for dinner tonight! We can order pizza" I heard Martha's voice speak

"Are you sure? There's six of us, plus these boys eat like horses" Maverick said

"Hey!" Cyrus yelled. "Oh you know it's true buddy don't even" Maverick replied only to get a giggle out of Cyrus.

"I don't mind at all, I'm sure Shelly would love to show off her toys. Little meadow needs to be in her baby swing anyway" Martha said, I blushed at her comment. Her and Shelly surprised me with a baby swing, it's my favorite thing in the whole wide world. I love to be out in it weather my little age is three or zero.

"Sounds like a plan to me! As long as the boys behave we can stay for dinner" Scarlett said as she looked up to whoever was standing near us.

"Ok let's go!" Martha said excitedly.

With that my body was lifted and carried out, I watched the clouds as we walked to the car.
"Cloud" I pointed to the sky. Scarlett looked up before looking back down. "Yes there clouds! Such a smart baby" she said. I blushed and hide my face with my hands and the blanket Martha had wrapped around me earlier.

"Shy baby" Everett muttered making me whine. They both chuckled until I felt her stop walking.

"Ok let's get these two in the car, you go help with the boys" Scarlett said.

"She ll need her blanket over her once she strapped in. Her paci is still clipped to her shirt right?" Martha asked.

"Yes, I'll make sure she's all comfy" Scarlett said as my body was sat down into a car seat. But I didn't want to be in a car seat I wanted to be held!

Scarlett's POV

Meadow lot out a loud wail and started trashing.
"No! No! Held!" She yelled. I looked up at Martha in shock, from the looks of it she's just as shocked as I was.

"Did I do something wrong?" I asked Martha, she shook her hand and stared at meadow after finally finally got Shelly strapped in who was as calm as a butterfly. "No!" Meadow screamed again as I tried strapping her in. She only trashed and whined as the tears flowed down her face.

"Darling can you help hold her arms down, just be gentle please" I asked as I turned to Everett who walked up from hearing the screams.

"Sure" he said as he softly grabbed her arms. She hushed her and talked to her sweetly but that only calmed her down a little bit.

"Held, held!" She yelled again.
"I know, but we need to go home. Just breath" he said as he held her arms softly. I finally got her completely strapped in, I put her blanket over her as Everett tried to put her paci into her mouth.

She fought and fought until she finally gave up and took it. We all sighed in relief.

"Mommy, she wants to be held" Shelly said to Martha as she pointed to meadow.

"I know baby, but we have to go home and then she'll be able to be held" Martha said before she kissed Shelly's head and hopped into the driver seat.

"Hey Scarlett, why don't you ride with us maybe she be ok if you're in the car" she said.

"Ok sure" I said looking to Everett who nods and kisses me goodbye before heading back to the van.

I hopped into the car and looked back at meadow who is still crying. Her paci is still in her mouth but the tears and whining hasn't stopped. "She really worked herself up didn't see?" I said

"She gets like this time from time, this is why I'm worried about her" Martha whispered the last part.

This baby needs love, although Martha and Shelly give her a lot it still not enough to make up for the years of neglect. She needs a caregiver and she needs it soon.

I looked down at my hands as we listened to the baby cry, Shelly from time to time would say things to clam her down but it would help. Martha leaned over and turned on some Disney music.

"This should help her" she said with a reassuring smile. I smiled back but still felt unsure.. I wanted to hold her and tell her everything would be ok, that's if protect her no matter what. But I couldn't.

Finally we made it to Martha's house, I was so relieved once we made it into the driveway. I almost instantly open the door so I can get to meadow.

I opened the door to see her still tucked in her blanket but still crying. The tears haven't stopped and her face bright red.

"What happened?" Maverick asked from behind me

"She got herself worked up because she wanted to be held." I said as I untucked her and started to unbuckle the straps on her car seat.

"Aww poor baby, Everett said he's never seen her like that before it scared him" he said. I nodded as an agreement. I pulled meadow up into my arms and carried her up to the front door. All my boys ran behind me with giggles like there wasn't a care in the world.

I smiled as I watched them scurry inside "no running!" Maverick shouts as he follows behind them. I chuckled at the boys, they're so cute when they're excited.

I walked into the living room and sat on the couch, I adjusted meadow fire I wiped tears away. Her breathing is heavy and she's doing hard hiccups after crying so hard.

"Shhh it's ok, I got you now." I said as I wrapped her blanket around her, Everett took off her shoes and put them away from me. Soon Martha came in with a bottle and handed it to me, I gave her a confused look before she explained.

"She likes to take bottles during these fits, it'll make her feel better and then you can put her into her baby swing" Martha said. But I didn't want to put her down, I'll just keep her in my arms.

I hold the nipple to her mouth and rub it against her lip so she understands it's a bottle because her eyes are closed. She opens her mouth and suckles softly on it, I coo at her as she does.

My husband Everett comes over and watches her with a smile. "Aww she's so cute, I'm glad she calmed down. To be honest I don't like seeing her that way" he said softly

"Me neither, I hate to see what she'll do when I have to leave" I said looking up at him, he gave a sad smile before kissing my forehead then going off to tame our boys who are wrestling with Shelly.

I softly rocked meadow as she drank her milk. She her little eyes stayed closed and she made soft snoring noises, I looked at Martha asking for help. Even though I don't want to put her down this is the best way so she doesn't get upset.

Martha took the bottle and set it on the coffee table before moving over to her baby swing, I asked Maverick to come over and help me lift her into the swing. Once he laid her down I tuck her blanket around her and made her her paci was in her mouth.

I watched as Martha turned her swing on so it softly rocked back and forth. She such a tiny little thing. To be able to fit into a baby swing. It's so adorable..

"She'll be ok my love" Maverick said, I sadly smiled before I walked away without looking back. I knew if I looked back that I would pick her up again instantly.

"Ok it's time to go home" I said as I walked over to the boys, the protests were instant but were quickly ended by a stern look from Everett.

I turned to Martha "thank you for dinner, hopefully we can have you all over again as well" I said.

"Oh no problem, I enjoy the company and so does the girls. Especially meadow" she said hinting to meadows earlier fit.

I laughed before I took my youngest and then my oldest hands, my middle child was falling asleep in Everett's arms. We all walked out after saying our goodbyes. Once we were in the car we set off to go home.

What a long day.
