Everett's POV

About a week ago Maverick found out he has to leave on a short business trip for one of his cases.
The boys of course took it well, but meadow. She didn't take it well at all.

Now it's time to leave now, and it's going to be hard.
"I really don't want to leave, after meadow's reaction.. I just I can't" Maverick says as he throws his case down and starts taking his jacket off.

"Mave, you have to go. You're going. Meadow will be fine babe. She has me and scar." I said as I held his face with my hands. He relaxed as he closed his eyes. "I know.." he said quietly.

Scarlett comes into the room and gives a sad smile. "It'll be ok darling, I promise" she said.

"I know, I just feel bad. I don't want to leave yall and I hate to do it to meadow." He said as he picked up his suitcase. I smiled before taking it from him.

"It'll be ok, let's just say a quick goodbye and you can come right back in three days. Just three days." I said. He nods before following me out of our bedroom door.

We walked down to the living room where we hear laughter and giggles. We found all four of our little ones running around as the hit ballon's back into the air.

Cyrus notices us and runs up to Maverick hugging him tightly. "Bye bye dada, bring me back some candy!" He said in a cute manner.

Maverick leaned down and kissed him "I'll bring you all some candy ok?" He said causing the littles to giggle. Elijah and Felix run up and hug him, I looked up in a confused manner to see meadow just standing there in a sad way. My heart broke to see her like this.

"Babygirl, come say goodbye to dada" I said. She slowly walked over before throwing herself so harshly into Maverick he almost fell backwards.

He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her for a good minute. "Dada no go." She said as tears ran down her face.

"Baby dada has to, but it'll only be three days. I promise" he said as he went to let go back she had such a tight grip on him he couldn't get her off.

"Baby it'll be ok" he said again.

"No!" She yelled startling all of us. Maverick gave me a shocked look before I finally decided to grab her gently. I pulled but she whined. She was a VERY tight grip on him.

"Baby let go, it's ok" I said.

"No! No!" She started screaming and crying as she held tightly onto him. Scarlett looked at me with tears in her eyes, I didn't know what to do.

I looked at the boys who were just watching in shock. "Cyrus, take your brothers to the playroom now." I said sternly. He instantly grabbed their hands and pulled him towards the direction of the playroom.

"No! No!! Let go of me!" Meadow screamed. I grabbed her arms and pulled as Scarlett grabbed her hands making her lose her grip.

"No, No! Dada! No!" She screamed as I pulled her away from him and held her in my arms. She kicked and screamed. Scarlett did her best to clam her down as I talked to Maverick.

He just looked at her in disbelief. "Maverick, go. She'll be ok, just go and get it over with. Then come right back do you understand?" I said calmly and sternly. He nodded before saying "i love you" to all of us.

I could see he was about to cry, he ran to the front door with his stuff. Once I heard the door shut I pulled meadow over to the couch with me. She was still screaming and crying, barely letting herself breath.

I finally got her straddled on my lap and held her up by her shoulders so she could see me. Scarlett behind her caressing her head. "Meadow breath, breath baby." I said as I blew air into her face, we've learned blowing air into her face distracts her and gets her to breath again.

Scarlett sat down next to me after meadow calmed down a little bit more. She took meadows hand in hers and made her look at her with her other hand. "Meadow mommy's going to ask you a hard and scary question.. and you have to be very honest with us." She said.

Meadow just looked at her as she slowly stopped hyperventilating.

"Baby.. are you upset because dada is leaving just how your parents didn't before they passed?" Scarlett asked in a fearful tone.

"Yes! He needs to come back!" Meadow yelled before bursting into tears again. The realization hit me and I pulled Meadow into my arms as I hugged her tight, she sobbed into my shoulder.

Scarlett looked at me with a sad look as she rubbed her back. "It'll be ok baby, dada will come back I promise. You can FaceTime him every day." Scarlett said.

Meadow continued to cry until she calmed down but I didn't dare move. "Go check on the boys,no have her. She may need another nap though." I said as I hinted to nursing. Scarlett nodded before quickly heading towards the boys.

"Baby, it's all ok. I promise, it'll be ok. You're safe and dada is safe." I said as I rubbed the back of her head down to her back. She finally let out a long relieved sigh, she really is just a little baby. Our little baby.

Finally meadow was sleeping, after Scarlett nursed her for 35 minutes and rocked her forever.

"She'll be ok, I think she got herself to worked up. But I don't blame her" Scarlett said as she sat down next to me on the couch. I softly smiled as I watched the boys play.

"I know I just feel so bad, for her to feel she was going to go through it again breaks my heart." I said.

"I know, she'll be ok. We just need to work with her and take it slow" Scarlett said.

After about an hour meadow woke up and we feed her a good dinner. She seemed to just be nonchalant, Just sad. But she would open up and giggled from time to time.

Maverick let me know he was at his hotel safely, it's only about a 4 hour drive, not that bad.

Maverick: I made it darling, I can FaceTime as soon as you want

Reply: ok darling, I'll call you in a few.

I put my phone in my pocket before I picked up meadow who was happily sucking on a lollipop Scarlett gave her after dinner.

"We're gonna go FaceTime makerick, we'll be back ok?" I said. Scarlett smile and nodded before going back to talking to the boys.

I walked meadow up the stairs to our office, I sat down at my desk and sat meadow in my lap before setting up my phone against the computer and calling Maverick.

I watched meadows face as she watched the screen. She seemed said before the phone was answered. "Dada!" She said as she pointed to the phone.

"Hi babygirl! Dada misses you!" Maverick said Through the phone.

"Dada I got a lollipop" she said as she showed him her lollipop.

"Aw wow! Is it yummy?" He asked. I smiled as I watched them talk. I'm glad she's feeling better now but I still feel bad, but I'm sure as time goes on she'll learn to trust again.

She's already learned so much, she's our smart little girl.
