Hidden Treasure

Raven ran down the stairs almost tripping. She sat at the bottom of the stairs on the floor looking at the step, then Danny, then the floor board.
Danny looked at her confused then spoke up.

“Raven what exactly are we looking at?”

“This is the treasure the killer was talking about.”

She then ran to a woredrobe by the living room and grabbed a hammer. As she came running back she tripped and the hammer flew out of her hands, Danny flintched.

“Sorry.” she said with a faint blush

“Its fine, just what do you need the hammer for though. ”

“As a kid I used to hide stuff from my parents and they were the things I loved most, or my “treasure”.”

She gave him the hammer and looked at him excitedly. He looked at the step and floor boards then at her, her eyes were filled with excitement and adventure.

“Ok here goes nothing.”

Danny started to pry the top of the step off, they saw all sorts of letters, pictures, and her diary. They began rummaging through her stuff but didn't find the next clue anywhere in there. Danny looked outside and saw it was starting to get dark and looked at his phone.

“We have to go, my mom is gonna freak out if I'm not home soon!”

Raven quickly ran upstairs to get the laptop and Danny put the top of the stair back (poorly).

When they arrived at Danny's house it was dark and silent.

“Mom! I'm home!” Danny screamed

“Something's not right, my mom would have already been halfway down the stairs ready to smuther me.” Danny thought about this for a while until he saw a trail of blood on the floor. They both ran, following the trail up to his moms room. Danny looked around the room and saw nothing. Raven sat on the floor against the end of the bed, she closed her eyes and looked up. Something dripped on her cheek, she opened her eyes in horror and screamed. Danny ran in and looked up to see his mother dangling from a rope byr her hands. Her throat was slit open and blood was dripping down her feet as she swayed back and forth. Tears started to form in his eyes.

“Danny don't worry we will find him then all of this will be over.” Raven said trying to calm him.

He ignored what she said, walked over to the wall and punched it. His head went down as tear drops began to fall onto the floor. He punched the wall again and the ropes holding his mother broke. His mother fell to the floor. Raven walked up to her, the look of fear and pain was painted on her face as she just lay there, still looking at her face she noticed something sticking out of her neck.
