Chapter 8-Vacation house

Because I did superb on my previous project, my boss wanted me to build his vacation house.

I drafted the plan in 3 weeks to show him and he approved only telling me to make some small changes. After making the changes I showed the draft to him again and he approved. At his approval I drew the plan and was assigned a construction team to build the vacation house.

Unlike the hotel site, he visited this one daily. I guess because it was more personal. Each time he visited we would make small talks here and there and these talks led to longer conversations. We talked about the progress of the project, architecture, issues in Nisean and even a few personal things.

The more I talked with him he seemed more human and less monster-like. Though he was prejudice as all the other wealthy families in Nisean against the poor he seemed like someone you could actually have a casual conversation with.

I worked tirelessly on the house as it was to be finished in five months. Each day I did over my working hours and I even worked on my day offs though I didn't get paid for it in order to finish the project.

One day, Marlon pulled up while we were packing up to head home and he asked me if I wanted to have dinner with him.

"Would you like to have dinner with me?" he asked.
"Why?" I replied being caught off guard. I never expected someone of his stature to ask me out.
"You seem like a fun person to hang with."
"Well, I'm no fun. Don't you have your rich cronies to hang with?"
"You're different compared to them."
"Why would you want to hang with someone like me seeing your so prejudice to the people of my class?"
"It's true that I'm prejudice, but as I say you're different."
"How so?"
"Have dinner with me and you'll find out."
"Okay, fine." I only agreed because I was curious to hear of this difference.
