I came out the room after I calmed down. Before I went to the kitchen I looked around and I didn't see Marlon. He must be in his office.
I continued my cooking, finishing up my rice and beans. As I was finished I shared my food only and proceeded to go upstairs. I didn't want to eat around the table nor cross paths with Marlon. Before I could reach the first step, Marlon called to me.
"Can we have a talk?" he asks. Though I wanted to say no I had things on my mind that I wanted to tell him.
"Yes," I replied rudely. I followed him towards the table.
"Have you shared my food?"
"You'll have to do that yourself." He then shared his food for us to talk while eating.
"I'm sorry you heard all that." He started off.
"I blame you for that, if you had not let them in that wouldn't have happened. I'm not saying you should've dismissed them, but with me being here you should have." I said angrily.
"I understand you, but it is hard for me to do that."
"What I feared have finally came through, your family has found out and their reaction is as expected. Now its time for Alicia. I illude myself into thinking this could work, but what's in the dark has to come to light. I think it's best for us to part ways, cut all ties." I poured out. I didn't want to give up on our relationship but it was the best thing to do. His mom will ensure our relationship doesn't work.
"It will work if we're willing for it to work, it will take a lot as my family will give you hell but I'm willing to fight for us. This is what I want. This is my peace and happiness."
"This is what I want too, but it won't work. In life you've to choose your battles wisely and this is a losing battle."
"It isn't, it will work, I love you." This was the first time he had told me he loves me, though he showed it all the time.
"Love alone will not let it work." I wanted to fight for us too but it'll be too much.
"We'll see."
