Marlon got ready for his wedding day. His friends helped him to get dressed in his ivory suit. Today was the big day. After he broke up with Bolanle, his parents made Alicia to move in and now they were getting married.
After an hour, the wedding began. Alicia's dad walked her down the aisle handing her off to Marlon. The pastor went through the cliche procedure and now it was time for Marlon to say his vow.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. As you know, I'm Marlon-Josh Hanks and today, you're gathered here for this union between Alicia and I." He started off. "This isn't my idea but my parents. They forced me to get married to someone I don't love, just because they want to increase their wealth." Everyone was shocked at his speech but he continued nonetheless. "It isn't that Alicia isn't my type, it's just that I didn't choose her and she was chosen for me. My parents wants to control all aspects of my life, even my dating life. I want to have a choice in choosing whom I date and whom I love! And I've been in love with someone else for a long time now. She'll not be accepted by any of you but I'm willing this time around to be rejected for my happiness and peace. I've been depressed for too long now trying to please you guys fearing to be judged. But now I welcome you guys judgment and rejection." He poured out before leaving Alicia at the altar.
Alicia stood there crying. She was in disbelief that her dream had turned into a nightmare. His mom tried to follow him but he quickened his pace and came to his car and drove away. He was going for the love of his life.
