Marlon told me to dress elegantly as he was carrying me to a formal event. When I asked him what formal event he told me it was a surprise.
I got dressed in a mermaid style black dress that had a sweetheart neckline with silver glitters. I paired it with my black heels and black purse. I accessorized with my elegant silver jewelry set. I did my hair in a ponytail before checking myself in the mirror. I looked beautiful.
In the next 5 minutes Marlon came for me.
"You look beautiful." He complimented.
"You look handsome yourself." I replied, checking him out. He was in a black suit that he paired with his black leather loafers.
When we pulled up to his house I was confused.
"Did you forgot something?" I asked.
"Yes," he replied. He drove us straight to the garage and led us to the house. When we came upstairs, I was surprised to see the house decorated beautifully alongside the dining table.
"Is this the surprise formal event?" I asked.
"Yes," he replied smiling.
"It's beautiful." I admired. He led us to the table before carrying the food to the table.
While we ate we talked and laughed. I was super hungry.
"Who cooked this?" I asked. The food was lovely.
"I may have tried a thing." He replied shyly.
"When have you learnt to cook?" I asked. He never cooked while we were together. He claimed he was a terrible cook. He wasn't thought to cook as a helper was always cooking for the family.
"I've been watching you and Cynthia."
"This is very good."
"Thank you, are you ready for dessert?" he asked.
"I feel full."
"It's your favourite." I couldn't resist chocolate cake and he knows this.
"You're so evil." He laughed before going for the cake placing it on the table. As I was about to cut myself a slice I read what was on it- 'will you marry me?'
"What?" I asked as if I couldn't comprehend. At this Marlon was on his knees beside me with a pricey dazzling diamond ring in a box.
"Will you marry me?" I was dumbfounded at his question.
"Yes!" I shouted after a while. I wanted to make this official. We were going to be husband and wife. He placed the ring on my finger before kissing my fingers and cheeks and forehead.
"You'll be mine forever. Thanks for giving me another chance. You surely won't regret it this time." He said.
"I know I won't." I replied while staring at the ring.
To say I'm happy is an understatement. I was going to spend the rest of my life with my forever. I cried tears of joy remembering where we are coming from to now.
