I went in one day before my due date as I was feeling pain. The contractions were hot. The midwife checked me when necessary to see how much I have dilated.
The babies decided to come late at night. The midwife encouraged me to push the first one out. The more I pushed the more I felt tired.
"Push," he encouraged. "Continue pushing Mrs. Hanks."
I pushed until he nodded saying he saw a head. I pushed harder and the first baby came out crying. He handed Jacob to the other midwife while he dealt with me. It seems Olivia couldn't wait.Oh God, baby number two can't wait.
The contractions came on harder this time while I tried to scream but was too thirsty.
"Okay, push again Mrs. Hanks." He encouraged. After, a decade of pushing baby number two finally came out crying loudly.
Marlon was beside me whispering encouraging words throughout the whole process. After the ordeal I felt super tired and I just wanted to sleep. I fought it though to see my babies. I held Jacob while Marlon held Olivia. They were cute.
"Thank you." Marlon whispered to me.
"Thank you too." I said smiling before kissing him."What's their names?" the midwife asked.
"Jacob and Olivia Hanks." Marlon replied.
"Two lovely names for two lovely babies." The midwife complimented while smiling. As I saw my babies I knocked out after.
"Hey, baby" I heard Marlon voice as I opened my eyes.
"How many hours I was out for?" I asks.
"Approximately ten." He said. I slept like a baby. It was the best sleep in my enter life.Soon after it was time to go home. Marlon carried my things to the car and came back to help me with the twins.
"Surprise!" everyone screamed as I entered the first floor.
"Did you do this?" I asked Marlon.
"Anything for my wife."
Marlon had a big party for me. Everyone congratulated me and looked at the babies one by one. I didn't make any one to hold them as they were too young and fragile. My mom was very emotional when she saw her grandchildren. It seems the reality of being a grandmother has finally kicked in.I made mom to resign from her work to live with us and help me take care of the babies. She'll be fully incharge when I return to work after my maternity leave. I'll miss my babies but I wanted to work even though I didn't have to. Marlon didn't have a problem working and providing for the family alone.
