While I was washing the dishes I heard a knock on the door. When I peeped through the peephole I saw Marlon. He was in an ivory suit with flowers in hand.  I returned to washing the dishes while he continued to knock on the door calling my name. After I went upstairs to my room. Marlon continued to bang on the door for an hour shouting my name. Thank God my mom wasn't here and by her friend for the weekend. Eventually I gave in.

"What brought you here?" I asked rudely as I opened the door.
"You, I want you back." He said boldly.
"It's too late for that."
"It's never too late."
"Well it is, I'm finally getting over you."
"I've not gotten over you, though I may have left you, I'm always in love with you."
"How could you say that after pushing me aside because you feared rejection by your family and friends. You weren't man enough to stand up and fight for us."
"I'm man enough now. This time I'm willing to be rejected and judged. I left Alicia at the altar just for you."
"You left your wedding for me?" I asked.
"Yes," he said, recounting his wedding speech. It was beautiful but it still didn't melt my heart.
"Well, you've made a mistake thinking that just because you've left Alicia, your family and friends for me means I'll take you back now. As I said it's too late for this. An us is never going to be. You've scared me for life Marlon, no one has ever played with my heart like this, not even my dad."
"I know and I'm sorry. I'm willing to work to regain your trust and love. It was hard for me to let us go but I did and it's the worst mistake I've ever made. I've been depressed and I've cried so much."
"Don't come here talking about you! Ever wondered how I felt- heartbroken, depressed and sick. You haven't even shown up or called to check on me."
"I thought you were done with me."
"You could still have shown that you care. But no you were off with your  Alicia whom you've chosen over me and your family and friends. What, did something went wrong for you to reject them and decide to use me as a last resort?"
"Nothing went wrong. I've just finally came to my senses and realize you're the best thing that has ever happened to me. Though, I've known them for so long none of them have had this impact on me."
"Don't come here trying to look sorry for. I'll never give you another chance. You promise that the chance I've given you I'll never regret it and I did."
"I'm sorry, I know I've hurt you. But if you give me another chance, I promise I won't let you down this time. Please." He whispered desperately.
"The only chance I have is for someone else. As they say there is a thin line between love and hate and I've grown to hate you Marlon."
"There won't be no one else but me!" He shouted.
"You don't have any claim on me! One man's trash is another man's treasure!"
"Well you're mine and you aren't my trash to be someone else's treasure."
"Go back to Alicia. That's whom your family wants you to be with. She isn't any golddigger or servant."  That's the last thing I said before slamming the door in his face. He banged on the door for about an hour shouting my name before he left.
