Behind The Scenes, Spencer Agnew

S 1, E 12

Charlotte was sitting in her office, preparing herself for the video she was about to film. She was mid breathing exercise trying to calm her nerves when there was a knock on her door. She quickly got up and was met with a smiley Spencer.

"It's time already?" Charlotte asks, seemingly having lost track of time.

"If you want me to teach you the game beforehand, then yeah, it is time!" He softly smiles watching her gather the few things she needed before heading to the game stage.

When they got there Spencer quickly set up the game, making sure everything worked before taking a seat on the couch. He made some kind of gesture that Charlotte took as one for her to sit down as well. 

"So, it's just regular Mario Party but instead of winning you want to lose" He hands her a controller as the game starts up. He notices Charlotte's quietness and turns to look at her and she has a confused look on her face. "What's up?" He asks.

She snaps out of that look and turns to face him. "I've never actually played Mario Party before?" She says it like it's more of a question rather than a statement.

He laughs. "Well then, I guess you're perfect for this game! Do you even still wanna practice?"

"Just for fun I guess, to get a feel of the controls at least so I don't look like a complete idiot." 

The game finishes loading up and they're picking their characters when Spencer laughs at who she's chosen. "Birdo seriously?"

"What? She's cute, don't tell me you hate her." 

"Ehh well, I don't hate her but obviously she would not be my first choice."

"Ohh okay so you hate women is what I'm getting from this." She looks over at him disapprovingly. 

"That is not what I said and don't give me that look." He shakes his head before returning his attention to the screen in front of them.

Throughout their practice round Charlotte found that it was a lot of fun being in this position rather than at her desk typing away. She of course had lost but it was the whole point of the game they were playing so she'd technically win.

Spencer had a tough time trying to teach her the controls but it was fun for him too. Not often does he seriously get to teach somebody to play a game. 

Soon after finishing their game Angela and Amanda came in, saying hello to the crew and taking a seat at the couch, on either side of Spencer and Charlotte. 

"What are you guys up to?" Amanda asks, getting her mic situated.

"I was showing her the controls to the game, she's never played it before, can you believe that?" He says still shocked at that knowledge.

Amanda gasps. "Charlotte! Are you serious?" Angela is laughing at this point.

She looks from Amanda and Angela, settling her attention on the floor in front of her. "Sadly yes. I am completely serious." 

"Well that's not fair, you'll win!" Angela says.

"Hey, you never know what could happen..." Charlotte says, trying to act like she didn't just learn the controls to the game.
