S 1, E 17

For the next month Charlotte found everything felt much more normal again. She was invited to be in an assumptions video for writers at Smosh, thanks to Anthony. It was much different from filming a games video but she found it was nice to be serious and talk about her passion.

Other than that her schedule was back to regular. She'd sit in her office all day working on scripts while Spencer would visit once or twice a day just to say hello then to walk with her to lunch. 

Unfortunately that meant that she was eating less with Zoey but she didn't seem to mind as she had started eating with Angela, something Charlotte tried bringing up but was unsuccessful. 

Most days she would let Spencer lead the conversation which he would usually talk about things he was passionate about whether that be games or the guitar. Charlotte found it endearing. She loved sitting there listening to him talk and not having to butt in with her own knowledge and Spencer loved having someone listen to him spew nonsense so it was perfect.

Today however had a strange energy to it. Charlotte had been working in her office earlier that day when she got a text from Spencer saying he wouldn't be able to see her until lunch today. She didn't know why he told her that because most times he just wouldn't mention his absence until they ate. Regardless, she brushed it off and resumed working. 

She's grabbing her water bottle off her desk when there's a knock at her door which she knows is Spencer so she ignores it until she's ready to leave herself. 

Opening the door she immediately notices something is off about him and gives him a funny look to which he replies, "What's wrong?".

"Did you film a video today?" She asks as they begin their short journey to the kitchen.

"Mhm something for Bit City." 

"And they made you wear a septum?" She questions.

"Yeaa... It was for this boyfriend thing and apparently i'm the perfect 'Rat Boyfriend' so that was part of it." 

"Oddly enough, i think it really fits you" She admits, taking her seat at a table as he sits in front of her.

Leaning his arms on the table he responds, "Oh really? I wasn't dead set on it but i think it looked good in the moment."

"Yeah for sure, if you actually had one you'd finally be classified as cool." She jokes.

"Wow, you don't think i'm cool now?" 

"You don't wanna know what I think.." She says as sort of a cop out, not knowing how to truthfully answer that question. They both laugh and the conversation heads in another direction.

Later that day at work Charlotte had gotten ahead of herself with work and decided to take a break in Zoey's office. Not having done that in a few days she chose today to bother her friend.

"Heyyy! How's it hangin" Charlotte says, walking into her office and sitting in her extra chair.

"Oh hello! It's hangin, that's for sure. Editing some work before sending it off." Zoey smiles back at Charlotte.

"Got a minute to spare, I might have something interesting to tell you."

Immediately stopping what she was doing Zoey gave her friend her full attention. "Oo do tell."

"Soo many many moons ago you were very interested in my love life and I think there has been an update." She waits for a response before getting some unreadable hand motion.

"Well you did guess it. I think i have a thing for Spencer, I can't tell just quite yet but there's just something about him." Zoey just laughs at that.

"I told you soo!!! I knew this would happen. All jokes aside though, I am super happy for you Char. He is a great guy and I will always root for you."

"Yep. Knew you'd say that."

"It was only right!!" Charlotte shakes her head in annoyance. "Have you thought about telling him and maybe seeing how things go?"

"Hell no! That's crazy. Either he magically makes the first move or i'm letting this blow over."

"But what if he never does and it never blows over?? Then you're just stuck pining, and nobody likes that."

"Then I guess I'll just suffer." Charlotte smiles and stands up. "Anyways, that's all I came to tell you because I knew you'd enjoy it. Talk to you later!"

Once Charlotte had gotten home she sat on the couch and put on Criminal Minds. She had gotten comfy laying but eventually had to get up to feed herself and Adrien, who had been meowing for a good five minutes prior.

Checking her phone that was left on the counter she saw Spencer had texted her, which for some reason her phone did not notify her of. She decided it could wait until she sat back down again to eat.

Quickly she filled Adrien's bowl up with some kibble and made herself a lazy dinner. Sitting back down on her couch and sat her food down and grabbed her phone to see what Spencer had texted her.

Hey, got a minute?

Now I do! What's up?

You know about the 'friendsgiving' thing we're doing? Which is really just a party so idk why they're calling it that

I know of it, why? 

Trying to plan it but don't have the creativity?

Funny! no.

Are you gonna go to it?

I don't know yet, are you?

Thinking about it 

What's there to think about it's a yes or no thing...

Well! Got me there
