Zoey and Charlotte were sitting in the green room, silently doing their own thing after a busy start to their day. They had been the only two there for some time until she heard someone walk in. Looking up from the book she was reading she saw Spencer, who was awkwardly standing in the doorway, and sends him a small smile. He takes that as a sign that things aren't going to be terribly awkward.

He takes a seat beside her, not too close but not far away. Out of her peripheral vision she knows he's on his phone, probably looking at twitter, she guesses.

Half an hour passes until Zoey announces that she unfortunately has to get back to work, which would leave Spencer and Charlotte alone. Before fully leaving the green room Zoey sends her friend a knowing look and a subtle smirk, to which Charlotte rolls her eyes at.

Once the door closes behind Zoey, Charlotte turns to face Spencer, who was already looking her way. A month ago he would have quickly looked away and pretend he wasn't looking at her but now he doesn't have to.

"Hi." Spencer says, breaking the heavy silence that had settled into the room.

"Hi." Charlotte fumbles with her bookmark before shutting the book and resting her arms on the table.

"How are you?" It's a simple question to ask but there's a newness to their situation so he doesn't want to come off too strongly.

"I'm great, how have you been?"

"Pretty weird to be honest. Got this really strange phone call last night, I think my coworker has a crush on me??" He jokes, sounding offended.

She quickly, yet playfully hits his shoulder. "Not funny, didn't laugh." She says, trying to hide the smile on her face.

"So that's why you're smiling right now?"

"Okay fine got me." She throws her hands up before returning them to fidget with the corner of her book. "Sorry if it was too weird last night, I wasn't even aware I was going to say what I did."

"I promise you were not at all weird. I'm actually really glad you did say what you did because I don't think I would have ever found the guts to actually come to and admit it, at least not for a long while" There's a certain look in his eyes that doesn't recognize.

"You were just gonna suffer with the knowledge you liked me without doing anything?"

"Me asking you to the party was about as far as I was going to go. Might've had a poorly thought out plan about telling you at the party, but I definitely wasn't going to follow through."

"Wow, we both really suck at this stuff don't we." She laughs.

Once back at her office Charlotte had lost track of time. Focusing solely on the work in front of her she didn't once look at her phone or check a different tab on her computer. That was until there was a knock on her door, followed by the slight noise of it opening and closing, causing her to look up.

Smiling at her friend she says, "Hey! What's up?"

"Hmm just coming to get an update. What'd you two do when I left?"

"Nothing really, just talked about how blind we both were and just the silliness of how it all happened. Why?"

"No reason, just curious. What do you plan on wearing to the party?"
