I had just finished packing my luggage when a notification popped up on my phone screen.
Ana: hurry you're flight is in 2 hours
I scrunched my face in confusion, my fingers quickly typing back a response.
Me: Do you have my flight information?
Ana: duh, I gotta make sure you're on time for everything.
Me: uh huh, because you're always so worried about being early.
I closed my phone, shoving it in my back pocket. The airport wasn't too far from here, but I still wanted to make sure I was on time. I hung my bag over my shoulder and grabbed the handle of my luggage, rolling it over to the door of my room.
I was originally gonna leave tomorrow, the 22nd, but me and the others thought it'd be best if I came a day early, just to have a day to relax and settle in.
I did one final scan of the room before stepping out of the door and closing it behind me, taking my key out to lock it. I made my way outside, the Uber already waiting for me by the pick up area. The man stepped out of the car- wait?
Isn't that Matthew's Brother?
He stepped closer, "Hey! Isn't this a coincidence?" He said with a weirdly bright smile on his face.
"Uhmm, yeah. I didn't know you were an Uber driver." I said, standing there awkwardly with my luggage in front of me.
He offered his hand, wanting to take my luggage. I hesitated before rolling it to him.
"Where are you headed off to with such a bit luggage, huh?" He asked, opening the trunk of the car and stuffing my luggage in there.
"Be careful with that. I'm going to visit my friends in Los Angeles."
He raised a brow. I couldn't quite see his entire face from this angle but I could tell something was wrong.
"What?" I asked, questioning the look on his face.
He looked towards me, closing the trunk, "what?"
I shook my head and shrugged, "Nevermind."
He shrugged too, walking to the passenger seat, opening the door, and then signaling for me to get in.
I hesitated again before walking over and leaning down so I could get into the car. He shut the door once I got in. I watched him walk around the car, going to the driver seat. I took my bag off my shoulder, placing it on my feet.
"You gonna see Matthew?" He asked out of nowhere.
I was taken slightly aback, my answer coming out seconds later, "Yeah, yeah I'm gonna see him."
"Hmm."
What the hell does that mean? I shook it off, grabbing my seatbelt and buckling it.
