[Male Oc X Percy Jackson(Lightning Theif)]
[Chapter One] (10/23/24)
______________________________
It was summer and dawn was approaching. Apollo was preparing the sun chariot to leave the east and drive across the sky to the west.
Recently, there had been in uptake of storms. As if the skies and oceans were fighting. Because of this, there had been a lot of clouds scattered across the sky.
Fortunately, the clouds couldn't mask the beautiful dawn. The smell of strawberries and morning dew whisked through the air.
Dawn would soon end when Apollo finished taking off with his Sun chairot. This meant it was time for Camp Half-Blood to rise.
It had been an eventful the day before. This was because a new camper arrived, Percy Jackson. He had done something no one had done. He killed the Minotaur.
This morning, the camper in question
was asleep in Cabin Eleven. He lied on the floor in a sleeping bag that was gifted and stolen by his head counselor, Luke Castellan.
His black curls were sticking out in different directions, completly messy and akin to a rat's nest.
His mouth was slightly opened, causing drool to escape from his mouth and leak onto a forming puddle on his sleeping bag.
Around him, campers were awakening and getting out of their sleeping bags and beds. Lights had lit up with Luke's command and now the light was shining daggers through Percy's eyelids.
The light daggers paired with the sounds of the other campers made Percy stir awake. He lifted his head and yawned. His sea green eyes cracking open to view the cabin around him.
Percy then paused, with his blurry vision, he could see a dark blob on his chest. Percy, rightfully confused, blinked away the dreariness and his vison cleared.
On his chest was a mostly dark brown rat with pale brown specks. It had small round ears and beady black eyes.
It was standing on its hind legs and staring innocently into Percy's eyes. "Squeak."
"Ahh!" Percy screamed. He back handed the rat off his chest, making it squeak in alarm and fly across the floor.
Percy sat up and watched the rat's tiny body barrel roll over the floor boards before it got back on its feet and scurried away.
Chris Rodriguez, an older camper had witnessed what happened and quickly blocked the rat's escape.
Chris lunged and grabbed the rat, trapping it in darkness. The rat let out another squeak in alam at its capture.
The older demigod cupped the squirming rodent in his hands and glared at his capture with an annoyed look.
"Sorry about that, Percy." Chris apologized. The dark eyed boy moved his hands around, feeling a small wet nose try to poke itself through his fingers.
It let out a squeak of protest when Chris foiled its escape plan. Chris, annoyed by the rat's squirming decided to hold the rat by its tail with two fingers.
This left the rat dangling and squirming around and frantically squeaking to be put down.
Luke, their counselor, walked over to Chris with a small smile, "Let him go, Chris."
Chris rolled his eyes and let go of the rat's tail. Making it drop suddenly and making the poor rat squeak in alarm before that was followed with a pained squeak.
The three looked at the downed rat that had gone splat on the floor, before Luke looked away first and gave Chris a look.
"What?" Chris said, feeling the disapproving stare. "You said, 'Let him go.' You didn't saw how hard."
"I also didn't say anything about dropping him hard." Luke retorted.
As the two older campers continued to bicker. Percy watched with wide eyes as the rat continued to grow in size.
The rat became the same size as Percy. The tail shrank back into the body and disappeared. The fur disappeared and a brown head of hair replaced it.
The clawed feet turned into hands and the stubby limbs stretched into human limbs.
The rat's head and face turned into a human, one with a sharp nose, upturned eyebrows. The black beady eyes transformed into dark pine green eyes with a mischievous sparkle.
The head moved up and the eyes met Percy's. It was a boy Percy's age.
He was wearing an orange Camp Half-Blood t-shirt, meaning he was a camper.
He had light blue ripped jeans and red sneakers. The boy's wrists were covered in bracelets. Some were made of twine and others looked they were made of vines or plants.
"Sorry," the boy said. "I figured I'd make you feel at home by turning into a Sundra rat. They're pretty big and I heard you have a lot of giant rats in the big city."
"You...you can turn into a rat?" Percy asked.
"Yeah! My name's Druid. Nice to meet you!" He replied in a chipper voice.
"I don't think turning into a rat is a good way
to introduce yourself." Luke said, ending the bickering he was doing with Chris.
"You never know, Big Bro! Some like things like that remind them of home." Druid said.
"That still doesn't warrent you to turn into a rat and stare at Percy while he's sleeping." Chris pointed out.
"Clovis doesn't mind it."
"Because he's either half-asleep, completely asleep, and doesn't even care if he was buried under a mountain." Chris said.
Druid shut his mouth. He knew Chris had a point.
Luke's hand ruffled the smaller boy's hair. "He's got a point. But you know better than to do that with anyone else."
"Whatever you say, Big Bro." Druid grumbled.
Chris rolled his eyes at the lenience Luke was giving. But he knew the two were close and Druid stuck to the older demigod like a bug on a glue trap.
Druid walked over to Percy and crouched to
meet Percy at eye level. "Wanna hang out with me today?" He asked.
"Um, sure?" Percy said.
Druid flashed Percy a grin. Something that Percy had seen on some of the kids in Cabin Eleven. Then he remembered what Druid called Luke.
Druid was a son of Hermes.

Druid had attached himself to Pescy's hip. He was beside him at breakfast, handing him plates and chatting animatedly.
He even took Percy to Ancient Greek lessons and left him with Annabeth. Percy and Annabeth talked abat the greek gods and godeless.
Even with his dyslexia, he could stumble through a few sentences of Homer without getting a headache.
When his Ancient Greek lesson was done. Druid practically broke the door, stole him from the cabin. And took him away by the arm, taking him to activities.
"Have you ever picked up a bow?" Druid asked Percy.
"No. I mean, I did make a slingshot out of some sticks one time." Percy said shrugging.
"I use a sling shot too! Though, I don't use it as my main weapon."
The son of Hermes dragged the boy to the archery range. When they got there, a few campers were shooting at targets that were shaped like monsters.
Among the demigods was Chiron, the immortal centaur and the activities director.
