I walked out of the shadows and the sunlight of the day faded behind me. I looked above me, and there was a brick archway—which wasn't looking very safe—with something etched in it. I personally didn't care enough to try to read it.

The door open as I stumbled and held myself up on the wall.

"You okay, cupcake?" A gruff voice asked.

I steadied myself and looked up. It was a man, probably late fifties, with dirt brown hair and matching eyes. He was around five-foot even. An orange traffic whistle hung around his neck, and a bat at his side. I knew this was the satyr I was helping, because I was able to see the differences in his face that you'd only notice if you were looking for it.

"Yeah," I said, "Coach. . .Hedge?"

He grunted in greeting before widening the door more, inviting me inside the school.

I dragged my suitcase behind me, the rolls squealing on the tile floor. Hedge led me around the school in silence till we reached a courtyard which was completely empty.

"You're Kiera Jackson?" He whispered, looking around as if the monster was simply gonna show up.

"Yep." I said.

"Don't look like much," Hedge grumbled. "You need to work on your upper body more."

"Excuse me?" I said in an incredulous tone.

The satyr is judging me!? Excuse me? That's bull shit.

Hedge grunted again before opening a door inside. "You're rooming with the girl demigod, that's where I'm taking you."

"Did Chiron tell you I'm dyslexic?" I asked. "I can't do any of the work if it requires writing or reading."

"We already have a schedule set up for you, you aren't put in any of those classes, but you are with a demigod in each class." Hedge said.

He opened another door and flicked the hallway lights on.

The floor was an ugly pattern of swirls and lines, like a hotel floor. The walls were an off-white and the doors a yellow wood color. Classic school doors.

We walked until he held up his hand. The door had a heart with some writing on it: RIPEP LCMAEN

I shook my head, a headache forming at the back of my skull. Hopefully there wasn't a mini-Athena inside trying to be freed. I'd hate to have my skull cracked open.

Coach Hedge banged his fist against the door, "Open up, cupcake!"

The door cracked open, revealing a girl that looked sixteen wearing her pajamas. She had a huge Marvel shirt on and Captain America pants. Her chestnut hair was braided, but mostly out of the braid anyways. And her eyes, gods they were stunning. They had hundreds of colors I couldn't name them all even if I wanted to. Her skin was a nice bronze color that contrasted her eyes amazingly. I knew instantly that this was a daughter of Aphrodite.

"Yes?" She asked with a yawn.

"This is your new roommate," Hedge said. "Kiera Jackson. Help her get set up and take her to breakfast tomorrow," he handed something to her. "Here's her schedule, help her figure them out."

And with that, the satyr walked off. The demigod shrugged and opened the door wider for me to come in.

I looked around and thought, maybe this won't be so bad.

Her bed sheets were a light pink color, white accents on the comforter. She had a bunch of Marvel characters on her bed, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Captain America, whatnot. The rug in the center of the room was a soft white. Her desk was messy, but a curtain was drawn to cover it—but I was able to glance in when I walked past it. The other half of the room was plain. Not a single thing in sight. An empty bed, bunk, desk, drawer, and nightstand. Though, there was a mattress topper on it, already expanded to the max.
