Kiera

I dreamed of the throne room in Olympus. Well, it wasn't exactly a dream, except it was.

"Kiera Jackson," Zeus's voice rang in my head.

When the bright glow of the room faded, I stood in front of the assembled Olympians, wearing my white dress. My hair was curled and pinned back, but my gray streak had fallen out of the wreath I wore, and blew when the king of the gods spoke.

"Yes, that is my name," I sighed.

Zeus opened his mouth to speak, but stopped for a moment. "Excuse me?"

I crossed my arms, not just out of habit, but because it was kind of cold in the throne room.

"You said my name," I said. "So I responded."

My father covered his mouth with his hand, and his eyes crinkled with humor. "Please, daughter."

"Fine." I mumbled. "So, why am I here? Exactly?"

Zeus cleared his throat. "The Council has decided to call upon the Guardian of Olympus for a mission. My wife, Queen of the Heavens, Hera has gone missing—"

I waved a hand. "Yeah, yeah, I know that already."

Zeus sputtered to a stop. "What?"

"We've got a quest already going, we're almost to her." I raised an eyebrow. I put my weight on one foot and jutted my hip out at the same time. Hephaestus grinned from his steampunk seat—that was now fixed entirely since Percy had ruined the throne room—and pointed at me.

"Ah, I remember this one," He tutted. "I remember the sass she had when she came into my forge, demanding I help her and her friends. Really reminded me of you, Uncle Poseidon."

Poseidon shared a small smile with Leo's father. "Runs in my genes."

Zeus cleared his throat, "As I was saying." He took a deeper breath. "Well. . .now I don't have anything to say. I've called the Council together for nothing."

I shrugged. "Maybe you could actually stop in on your kids and learn what's going on."

The throne room was silent for a few seconds. Zeus blinked. I kept my eyes on him. Artemis was fighting a smile from her seat, and Aphrodite was writing something down on a piece of paper. When Ares leaned over her shoulder to peek on what was being written, she patted his cheek and kissed his jaw. Ares smiled and sat back down.

Gods, even they're in an open relationship. Why am I the only single one?

"Moiraio," Zeus said slowly. "We. . .Well, Hades, what do I say, now?"

The mentioned god appeared on his throne in a blinding flash. "Yes, brother?"

Oh my. I groaned internally. Even he's here, too.

Hephaestus clicked a few buttons on his throne, and a small TV popped up. I tried to see what was being displayed, but he shifted the screen and I couldn't see it. Whatever it was, was probably better than what was going on currently.

"Can I go, now?" I asked impatiently.

Zeus and Hades stopped bickering over something, and turned to me.

"What?" Hades frowned. "Why are you here?"

"That's what I'm asking!"

Zeus held up a hand, and started to argue with Hades again. Poseidon stared at the wall on the other side of him, his mouth slightly open as his eyes unfocused. Yea, this shit was so annoying that even the God of the Sea was zoning out.

Ares and Apollo even started to argue about what was cooler, Sun Horses, or Fire Horses. Artemis sat back in her silver throne, stringing her bow again.
