The Scout
Chap 50
'Jocks & Melodie'
Written by; Mike Hurley

'Love is as mysterious as gravity;
It's course pre-ordained but uncontrollable.'

'Ty's blood brother'...........

10 hours after Ty and Shawn left Melodie at Shawn's house.
She was in the kitchen making pancakes for breakfast. She had fed Missy a few minutes ago, and now the little dog was sound asleep, in her bed under the kitchen table.

Melodie was dressed only in a T-shirt, which did little to hide her pretty female figure, or her long feminine legs. She was barefoot, and her toenails were painted the color of her eyes, a dark green.
Melodie made a glass of instant milk and poured it into the dry ingredients.
She pushed her long black hair out of her face and whipped up some instant powdered eggs, and added them into the bowl.

Melodie felt good this morning.
She'd be leaving in a few days, as soon as Shawn and Ty returned, or maybe sooner if the mysterious
friend of Ty's happened by.
She had never heard of a man being called Jocks. But Melodie really didn't care what kind of weird name he had as long as she was rescued from this God-Forsaken town and taken to a Bilateral fort. She had lost a year of her life and was ready to move on
1st on her list......Some beers and a man; not necessarily in that order.
Melodie liked Millar Beer and strong, intelligent men.

She took a quick shower this morning and put on makeup, eyeliner, and made herself look pretty.
Not for a man, but for herself.
She was happy, the first time in well over a year.

Melodie had the griddle on high and held the pancake batter bowl, as she poured some batter & listened to the faint sizzling sound.

Suddenly Missy began barking like a mad dog and scaring Melodie, who jumped and accidentally dropped the bowl onto the floor. Pancake batter went flying everywhere. She grabbed a rag, knelt to clean it up, and told Missy to hush. She'd look out the windows for Rebels in a minute. She wiped the floor by the stove, then crawled a bit to the left and stopped cold. She stared at a pair of men's shoes; hiking shoes about size 13.

She looked up and up at this man who stood well over 6 feet tall: with the brightest smile she had ever seen. She saw the warrior in his eyes, but also a fun loving man who put people at ease.

He looked at this beautiful girl and got an easy view down her T-shirt at her lovely breasts. They swung a bit back and forth and were not held securely in their usual C-cup bra.

He grabbed two paper towels and fell to his knees and began wiping up pancake batter. Melodie froze in shock as he wiped the batter off her pretty green fingernails.

Hi, I'm Jocks. Ty asked me to swing by and pick you up. He looked into her stunningly beautiful green eyes and saw her long black hair as it partially hid her gorgeous face.
Jocks had seen lots of gorgeous women over the years....... But this girl took his breath away.

She sat up as her hand slowly reached for the butcher knife she kept by the sink.

She stared at him, as Jocks gently pushed the hair out of her face.
You must be Melodie, Ty never told me you were gorgeous!! And I'm a
Marine Scout so you don't need a knife. Besides butcher knives don't kill well, they bounce all over and make a mess. Lots of blood.

They stood up together, their eyes never leaving the others.

You look flustered; Jocks said as he took her hand and led her to a kitchen chair and continued.

Here, you sit and relax and I'll finish up here. Jocks wiped up the rest of the batter, then grabbed the mostly full bowl and poured more batter onto the griddle. He flipped the first pancake and smelled the bowl...... you put vanilla in your batter. My mom always put vanilla in her pancakes. These smell delicious. He smiled at her. She saw his male eyes glance at her mid-20s figure, barely hidden by her t-shirt.
She felt his eyes long glance at her nipples.
Melodie knew men had 2 brains; even a Marine Scout appreciated a pretty view.
