The Scout
Chapter 51
'Blood Brothers'
By: Mike HurleyAmy slid a pillow under Robin's head and covered her with a blanket. The warrior girl lay on the kitchen tile floor.
But her spirit was off in another world.Amy didn't like being all alone at the Safe House. Sure she was safe, but the place was huge, with sensors, cameras, and communications equipment everywhere. Then there was the long dark passageway she and Ty rode through on the bike.
She was terrified on that adventure.
And right now her imagination was ramping up. Any odd expansion sound from this home/fortress left her whispering Ty's name. Just hearing his name, calmed Amy.Amy tapped on the kitchen monitor and pulled up the outdoor cameras. She looked all around the complex with multiple camera feeds and saw no one. Not even a squirrel.
Amy finished cleaning up the kitchen then sat at the kitchen table, and painted her fingernails a light purple.
She held her fingers up to dry when the speaker crackled with the automatic attendant's computerized voice. The attendants name was Hazel & she was new.
The Safe House recently had an update to all its systems & Hazel was part of the package. She seemed nice, but how nice can a computer program be? And she often had a condescending edge in her voice, which annoyed Amy.
Amy listened intently as Hazel issued a warning........
"Be advised....2 people on the main trail to River, 1/4 mile away."
2 minutes later.....
"Be advised.....2 people are now hiking uphill towards this safe house, typical ETA is 30 minutes.
Amy was suddenly scared...... real scared. What if they were Rebels looking to capture her? Shit!!
She mumbled in panic.
They'd impregnate her. That's what they did with young women.
And it's the last thing she needed was to be sexually assaulted by multiple creepy men and left pregnant.
Her imagination ran wild. She stood and said; shit shit shit!!She ran into the garage and put on her boots, then slid her knife into the left side of her right boot.
Amy could pull that knife out in half a flash and be a rebel's worst nightmare.
She could be scary as a wolverine in a corner. She thought about the tunnel; it would be a perfect hiding place.
She'd close the door and ride the bike up to the little lake where Ty surprised her with a real birthday cake. She'd hide behind the left pillar. Maybe wait 3 days then peek out the door.
But what if Hazel told the Rebel's where she went. Amy didn't like Hazel and wanted to call her a bitch. But she knew Grandma would not approve.Amy reached into the kitchen drawer and pulled out the flashlight & turned it on.......Shit! She yelled out, the batteries were dead. She dug through the kitchen drawers looking for batteries, while flipping out.
Amy rarely swore but being all alone, vomiting, and her rattled emotions had her on edge. And of course, the pregnancy word had paraded through her mind more than a few times every day now, for the last week. She was as grumpy as a rattlesnake facing a mongoose.
But Amy tackled every thought of pregnancy and tossed them right out the door of her heart. No way in hell was she pregnant! Amy told herself like a coach on a hockey team.
Then there were her memories of looking into Ty's eyes back on the trail to McAdams. In their tent, on her back, late one night. They were a few days from the Safe House.
They shared 1 sleeping bag to stay warm at night for weeks. Her soft sexy body drove Ty nuts for her.
They were having sex twice a day to help Ty relax, and meet his never ending male needs. Amy remembered like it was yesterday........
