Working on some images to depict the characters. Coming up in a while❤️
The fact that Arianna had barely passed the test didn't shake the confidence she woke up with the next morning. She actually ironed her cloths yesterday night out of excitement.
"Abuela I'm off" she screamed at her grandmother's door while adjusting her skirt over her tights. Although it was sunny out, Arianna insisted on the tights saying it added spice to her outfit.
"Be good Arianna, don't let that kind woman regret hiring you" her grandmother scolded while knitting a sweater on her arm chair. Arianna hoped that wasn't what she was getting for Christmas this year.
"Yes ma" she rolled her eyes after closing the door and headed out to the black Mercedes waiting out front. Mrs. Julian had insisted the she be escorted to and fro to avoid her been kidnapped and interrogated. This which was meant to scare her rather excited her.
Jasper sat at the front seat tight faced. Arianna wondered if he was always annoyed or bored. She gave a little wave when he looked her direction but didn't wave back or even crack his poker face.
"What's his problem?" she muttered under her breath and quickly got in before he got more annoyed and drove off. Settling at the passenger seat she adjusted her skirt which kept pulling up and caught Jasper looking at her through the rear view mirror.
"Seatbelt" he said with unnecessary stress. As she slipped it on he faced the road and drove without any other word. Arianna glared at him through the mirror but unfortunately for her he didn't pay any attention.
Jasper was a dark guy with shiny black curly hair that fell on his face parted at the center. He had sleepy eyes and a well-defined jaw. He looked middle 20s and Arianna wondered how he was so young and unfriendly.
"So, what's it like working for Mrs. Julianna?' Arianna wasn't the type to start up a conversation and she hoped it had nothing to do with his ocean blue eyes that made her tummy tingle.
"You are about to find out" one would think his obvious lake of interest would make Arianna lose her interest but it did not.
They approached the house minutes after and Jasper dropped Arianna at the front door before driving to the garage. He was a gentleman when he wanted to be. Waiting at the door was Matilda wearing the same kind smile she always had.
"Good morning Matilda" she wasn't sure it was alright to call her by her name but didn't know what to call her instead.
"Congratulations on getting the job I knew you had it in you" for some reason Arianna didn't believe her "plus I was tired of seeing new faces everyday" she ushered Arianna in.
Waiting in the parlor in a navy skirt suit was Mrs. Julianna she looked so young and beautiful. Arianna wondered if she would be able to afford her skincare with the money she makes from this job
"Good morning ma'am" she looked at Mrs. Juliana different from yesterday because she was an official employee of hers now
"Please don't, call me Juliana" Arianna nodded and guessed things didn't have to change." Let's go over the agreement before you get to work" Mrs. Juliana offered Arianna the documents after they had settled on the marshmallows couches. "feel free to let me know if you disagree with anything.
The contract was simple enough. She would work five times a week and will be paid hundred dollars per week although, she would be called anytime there was an emergency and sometimes even have to sleep over at the guest room, there was of course the secrecy and she wasn't allowed to relate with Jasper or Matilda outside the house. Arianna wanted to object but didn't see any professional reason to.
"Looks good" Arianna said and Mrs. Juliana looked pleased. She signed in all the right places
"Great! Let's go" she followed Mrs. Juliana down the familiar hallway to her son's room. Pushing the door open, she led Arianna in. The light was on but scanning the room she realized he was on the same chair. They walked around the chair to face him.
"Travis, I want you to meet Arianna your new therapist" Travis put down the book he was reading.
Travis was light-skinned, which was so clear as though he had never been under the sun before. He had dirty blond hair which was ruffled, but in an organized and attractive way. He has deep green eyes which felt like they could see through anything, and thin lips.
"Nice to meet you Travis" Arianna said with a sweet smile and extended her hand. He just nodded at her
"Okay... I need to get to the office, I am already running late. Arianna I leave Travis to you" Arianna nodded at her and she left.
Arianna took a sit on the other chair facing Travis and scanned the document Mrs. Julian had given her about Travis. She should start with getting to know him and build trust she thought. She was interrupted by Matilda who came in with two glasses.
"Sorry to interrupt. Travis always has lemonade at this time. He gets cranky if he doesn't and I got you one too"
"It's no trouble we were just about to get started and thank you" she sat the cups on the Centre table before handing one to Travis who took it with a nod. Arianna noted that he didn't nod at her because he was wary, he nodded at everyone.
"So you like lemonade?" Arianna asked as Matilda left the room
"It's hot out so it helps me cool down" Arianna was glad he was cooperative it made her work easier.
"I'm not a fan, I have a bit of a sweet tooth"
"Interesting" he didn't look like he found it interesting at all but just didn't want to be rude.
"It says here that you went to Harvard. What was it like?"
"Is that important?"
"Not necessarily, I went to an insignificant college in California so I'm just curious what Ivy leagues schools are like?"
"Okay, well it's crazy competitive, there is a lot of pressure and expectations but overall it's fun and inspiring"
"Do you think it has anything to do with your anger issues?"
"I don't have anger issues" he said so casually like Arianna had just gotten his favorite food wrong. Denial she thought.
"But there is a reason I am here and we have to talk about it so I can help you"
"You are here because my mom asked you to and I am, because I don't want to disappoint her but I won't tolerate you insulting me!" he gripped the armrest so tight his knuckles were white.
"You need to calm down!" Arianna pleaded.
"I AM CALM! I NEED YOU PEOPLE TO STOP TELLING ME THAT!" he shouted throwing the book he was reading earlier. She dodged it before it hit her square in the face. Arianna was glad her years of dodging her grandmother's sandals were finally paying off. He relaxed back into the chair panting.
Arianna took out her notebook where she had drawn a plan, she located build trust which was scheduled for a week scratching that out, she replaced it with a month.
After taking deep breaths she tried again "So, you like cats?"
Please let me know what you think🥹
I'll drop images of characters soon.
