Wait...what? Why did I just say that? I've eaten alone most of my life and afterlife.

"Sure! I'm not going to have to eat what you eat right?"

I let out a laugh, "Oh dear, I'm not going to make you be a cannibal! I'll cook us up something nice and proper. I think it would be nice to have a small break from the usual for me too."

Why do I feel strange? Is that bastard still in my head?!

"Okay! I look forward to your cooking!"

She then heads for the elevator as I follow.

"You should, I learned everything from my mother. She was the best cook in New Orleans!"

"Sounds like you had a great teacher."

"I did. I really did."

Stop thinking about it! It over and done with! You can't change what happened, and it's your fault!

I push the thoughts from my head just as the elevator doors open, and I immediately head straight for the kitchen to begin cooking.

Normally I would just use magic, or have Nifty do most the work, But I decided to let her have the day off and I should refrain from using my magic for a little while longer.

I start to think back on all the recipes my mother taught me throughout the years.

"Hmm, biscuits and gravy? No too simple. Ah! Crabmeat cheesecake should work perfectly."

I start to find the ingredients, luckily we have everything I need.

I start to put the skills my mother taught me to use.

Normally this dish would take quite a bit of time, but thanks to a few enchantments that the princess had me put on the cookware and bakeware in the kitchen, it only took about twenty minutes to finish.

I plate the savory cake, and grab two smaller plates for Emily and myself.

I make my way out to the dining room where Emily has been waiting patiently.

"Breakfast is served my dear."

She looks at the crabmeat cheesecake and looks confused.

"Isn't that a desert?"

"Not at all, it is a savory meal I assure you."

I cut out a slice for her, and one for me before sitting down across from her.

I almost but the princess' little barrier up out of habit, but remember that it isn't necessary for this.

We both dig in. I'll admit that my skills are rusty, and it was dryer than I'd like.

Emily seems to enjoy it though.

"This is delicious Al! Your mom's cooking must have been out of this world!"

Her words bring a genuine smile to my face.

"Thank you my dear. It is nice to break out some old talents now and again."

We finish our slices as the others finally arrive downstairs.

The first to arrive is the princess and her angel girlfriend.

"Morning Guys!"

The two looked as if they were still half asleep.

"Hi Emily."

"Hey."

They sat down and began to look at the crabmeat cheesecake.

"You may have some if you want. I doubt the two of us would be able to finish it anyways."
