Al's mother?!

"M-Miss Hartfelt? As in Al's mother Miss Hartfelt?"

She looks at me with surprise.

"Oh! You must be my sons fiancée. I thought he would have enough manners to introduce us to each other himself, but it would appear his manners have faded away."

Behind me I heard Molly take a shark intake of breathe. I turn and see that she's a little pale.

"Are you Alright Molly?"

"Or maybe they haven't."

I turn back to Miss Hartfelt who now has a huge smile across her face.

"I assume you weren't planning on running into me right away were you? My silly little Al."

"What are you talking about-?"

Molly is cut off as Miss Hartfelt gives her a stern expression.

"What have I told you about lying to your mother? Get rid of that amateur disguise right this instant!"

I turn to Molly with confusion that turns to shock as a silver mist evaporates leaving Al in her clothes. Al quickly realizes what he's wearing and changes it into his usually suit.

Sera looks even more shocked than me.

"What is the meaning of this?!"

Al's mom steps in between the two before Sera can do anything to Al.

"Are you about to scold a boy for trying to see his mother? I won't have your fussing ruin this reunion so go wait outside if you must."

Sera seems too bewildered to respond so she does as she's told and leaves the room.

I turn back to Al and shock starts to turn to anger.

"You seriously couldn't of just told me you were coming along?! Why do you have to hide these things?!"

Al's mother looked between the two of us and smiled.

"You picked a good one Al, but you should explain yourself before anything else right now."

Al takes a breath before starting.

"I thought that I would be refused if I simply requested such a thing considering how your sister can be at times. Also I didn't want you to think I didn't trust you going on your own."

I calm myself down as I take in the situation. Nothing here was a bad outcome by far. It was better than I could have hoped for, but I don't like that Al keeps hiding things.

"You get off just this once, but one more slip up and Angel gets your wardrobe for a week."

Al nods as his mother starts to laugh.

"To think you would find someone like her to complete you! You both make quite the pair!"

Suddenly a family photo book appears in her hands.

"Do you want to see Al's baby photos?"

"Mother!"

"What? It's both my duty and right as your mother to embarrass you as I see fit."

She turns back to me again.

"So do you?"

"Yes, I would love to."

I could tell that Al was already embarrassed and I haven't even seen the first one yet. This was already making me feel so much better.

As Al's mom showed me his baby photos Sera came back into the room.
