Angel and Husk said they would be down in a minute, and from the sounds I heard through the door I wasn't going to insist.

"Okay! See you down then!"

I rushed back to the elevator and tried to forget what I heard.

I know it's something people do when they love each other, but it isn't something I want to stumble on.

As the elevator doors open, a delicious aroma hits me.

"I wonder what he made today?"

I begin to make my way to the kitchen, and spot Charlie and Vaggie discussing something in hushed tones but stop when they see me.

"What are you guys talking about?"

"Nothing, Charlie was just discussing some new trust exercises is all."

I could tell she was lying to me. It hurt but if they didn't want to tell me then I wouldn't make them. I just wish they wouldn't lie about it.

"Oh, okay. Any plans for today's exercise?"

Just then Alastor comes out of the kitchen with a plate stacked impossibly high with waffles, another one with bacon, and some omelets.

"Breakfast is ready for those who wish to partake."

A few of his shadows set the table just as Angel and Husk finally came down stairs.

"Since when does Al cook for us?" Angel asked, eyeing the food suspiciously.

"I asked him to! He's a great cook!"

He looks at me with a teasing smile, "Is that all he's great at?"

Alastor materializes behind Angel and smacks him in the back of the head.

"That is enough nonsense out of you for the day. Enjoy the meal while you can still chew."

Angel stopped talking and started to dig in with everyone else.

Even such simple dishes tasted better when Al cooked them.

Maybe he has some secret spice he adds to it?

Everyone else also appears to enjoy it. Charlie's face said it all, and even Vaggie looked pleasantly surprised.

After everyone finished their plates, Alastor had his shadows deal with the dishes.

Charlie looks at Vaggie and they nod together before turning to me.

"Emily, I was wondering if you would want to have a girls night out? Just three of us."

From the other side of the table a disgruntled Angel coughed, "Aren't you going to invite me? I may not be a girl, but if shopping is on the itinerary I want in."

Vaggie tries to tell him no, but Charlie lets him.

They turn to me again, "So what do you think Em?"

A girls night out? Never had one of those unless going shopping with Sera counts.

"I'm up for it! When are we heading out?"

Charlie looked at the clock above the door to the kitchen, "Lets say about six o'clock?"

"Okay! I look forward to it!"

With that Charlie and Vaggie quickly leave and head up to their room.

Husk watched them as they left, "Is it just me, or did they seem strange just now?"

"What do you mean?"

"I would think that the princess would be a lot more excited about inviting you on a girls night out than that, also I don't remember her ever going on a 'girls night out' with anyone."
