I had made my way to Vee tower and was waiting outside.

What the Hell am I even doing here? I have no real reason to be here.

"You're the one who's feeling guilty about having Vox suffer this much remember? I'm telling you that this is a bad idea."

This will only take a moment. He's bound to be in a weakened state after everything that had happened. I'll simply walk in and finish the job.

"Just don't get us killed."

I enter the building and am greeted by two security guards. The moment they see me they start to panic. One goes to hit the alarm but my shades stop him.

"I am only here for one person. Where is Vox?"

The second guard swallows nervously.

"He's in his office. He hasn't left it since the funeral."

I toss the guards aside and enter the elevator to head his office floor. If nothing has changed since my last visit, it should be the floor above Val's old studio.

As I enter the floor number into the elevator I hear some kind of distorted message over the speakers.

"HelLo aLAstoR. cOme To dIe?"

Before I could do anything to react to the strange message, the cables to elevator snapped and it fell back to the ground floor and then through it to the basement.

"That hurt a little."

I unbury myself from the rubble and look around. There are hundreds if not thousands of old and new monitors and TVs everywhere I look. Then suddenly, one of them flickers on and I see him.

"WElComE to mY fUn houSe! THiS is wHerE yOu diE!"

Suddenly all of the screens turned on with astounding brightness that blinds me for a moment, just long enough for some one or something to slash one of my thighs. The pain streaks through my leg as I leap away from the general direction of the blow.

"StrAnge...I wAS gOinG for yOUr tHroAT."

It looks like he has finally lost it. His ego must have taken quite the blow when he failed so horribly to kill me, or even delay me properly.

"So I embarrass you on your little mediocre video podcast, and now you can't think of anything else? What a fragile ego you must have."

By now my eyes have adjusted to the light enough for me to make out his silhouette. He appeared to be in quite ragged state, and he was brandishing a long knife that I could only assume to be angelic steel.

"YOU THINK THIS IS ABOUT MY FUCKING REPUTATION?! YOU MURDERED VAL!"

Well this I didn't quite predict. I figured he had some sorrow for losing an ally, but this seems more like...shit. How long have those two been a thing? I haven't been around enough recently to know that they were together!

"You were the one who saw what he was doing and didn't warn him to stop. His blood is just as much on your hands as it is on mine."

At those words he began to tremble with rage and what seemed to be sorrow. I had bought myself enough time to fully adjust to the light and could make out my surroundings clearly now. In the center of the basement there appeared to be a rather large power generator of some kind.

"YOU ARE THE ONE WHO MURDERED HIM IN SUCH A REPULSIVE WAY! YOU MADE HIM UNRECOGNIZABLE!"

"Once again, that would have never had to have happened if you had told him to keep his filthy hands off what was mine. Now are you going to do something, or just keep throwing a tantrum like you always do?"
