Chapter 18

 Kore and Fredrik spent the whole summer traveling together. But she knew she had to come back to Mystic Falls. It wasn't just about Bonnie, she'd been having awful dreams. She felt extremely protective of Bonnie. She couldn't fail her. She just couldn't. Kore walked into their bedroom in New York. It was the last place before they were taking a flight to Charlottesville. She was just wearing a bra and her maxi skirt, but she was looking for her shirt. "How am I supposed to focus?" Fredrik asked as he looked at her from his desk.

"What are you working on?" She walked over to his desk and looked over his shoulder.

"Checking some accounts is all," he said. He didn't change the screen. He looked at her breasts as she had leaned over slightly, "Seriously, love?"

"What? We can't do anything, we ran outof condoms."

"I'm clean and I'm a vampire. Why do we have to use them?"

"Because I am a demigoddess and you are oneo fonly two hybrids."

" I've gotten more calls from wolves all over the country."

"I'm sorry. But, what can we do?"

"I don't know. But I want to see him. You ready?"

"If you would tell me where you put my shirt this morning."

"Well it won't help because I ripped the buttons, remember?" he asked her with a smirk and she playfully rolled her eyes.

"What will I wear now?"

"Take my button down. I haven't packed it yet. I'll wear this," he said. She nodded and kissed his cheek.

They arrived back in town and Bonnie was actually the one to pick them up from the airport. "You're back!" Bonnie said and hugged Kore.

"I am. How was your summer?"

"I talked to you every day. So you know it's been doppelganger central. Even when she went out of town following Stefan."

"Hello, Bonnie," Fredrik said as he walked over with their luggage.

"Hey, Rik."

"Did I just hear you know what my brother has been up to?"

"Trying and failing to make more hybrids. And holding Stefan hostage by compulsion," she told them as they walked to the car.

"I'd talk to him but I don't think it would do anyone any good," he told her.

"I don't know the guy very well but I believe you," she said as they got into the car and Fredrik got into the backseat after opening the door for the women.

They arrived back at the Bennett home. "So Fredrik are you moving back to your other place?" Bonnie asked.

"Well actually we wanted to talk to you about it first, but we would like us all to live together."

"I don't want to be the third wheel," she told them.

"Yes. But you won't be. It will be like you're living with your Aunt,"

"And eventual Uncle," Fredrik said. Kore flushed red and Bonnie grinned.

"Ugh, fine. I guess it would be okay," Bonnie said as they walked into the house, "You know, it's Senior Prank Night tonight."

"Oh that sounds fun," Kore went into the living room and sat down.

"I don't think I'm going to go." Her head snapped as she looked over at her niece.

"Why not?"

"Well I was thinking about just spending the night with Jeremy. Things have been so off lately and I don't know why."
