Fredrik was right. Rebekah had already made a decision. And she'd decided that the doppelganger had to die. No one would save her. Nor make her feel special. Rebekah stalked her after they left school that day, two weeks later. She followed her until she was almost home. Then, right as she reached her front door, Rebekah rushed over, snapped her neck then ran off. She looked back to see the girl collapsed on the floor and smiled. A job well done. Rebekah went about her day like nothing happened.

Fredrik had followed his sister. HE knew what she'd done but if no one else found out, he wouldn't say anything. He went back to the hosue and Kore ws there eating ice cream. "Craving?" he asked her.

"Yes. Pretty normal though. Chocolate covered pretzels, peanut butter, nutella, and potato chips on top of chocolate ice cream."

"Yum," he said and she offered him a spoon. He ate it and it actually wasn't bad. He nodded and kissed her chastely.

"Something is wrong. What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"You're lying."

"I am. But it's just sibling stuff. Also, I got a call. Tyler Lockwood is following my wolves around. But the full moon is coming."

"Which will be a problem when he realizes they don't change. So then your brother will come here."

"Yes."

"Should I be worried?"

"Yes. I need you to understand, I wasn't left awake because of the love my brother had for me. I was left awake because the dagger doesn't work on me. He can be angry and petty. He is my twin. Mikael and our mother treated us abysmally. Which you know. But I think we handled it differently. Nik he kept trying to live up to Mikael's expectation. I just decided to be myself. I knew something was wrong. I always knew. I always caught his looks. His irritation when I did something better than Finn did. But Finn didn't care. And he taught me not to. He was more of a father to me than anyone," Kore wrapped her arms around Fredrik, seeing he needed her support, "I wish this wasn't the way things were. I wish my brothers were not in boxes."

"Say the word and we'll release both of them. I don't mind going up against your brother," she said and he smirked.

"Which is part of the reasons I know you're the woman for me," he said and kissed her.

Rebekah came into Bonnie's room. "So I was thinking we should go shopping in New York this weekend for prom dresses," Rebekah said. Bonnie looked over at her, squinting in suspicion.

"Did you do it?"

"Do what?"

"Rebekah. Beks, I- I understand why you did it. But you literally just created more of a problem. Apparently they got into an accident yesterday and Elena was given vampire blood so-"

"She's a vampire?!" she asked, very upset and thinking her problems had been solved. Bonnie smirked before it dropped.

"See what happens when you make split second decisions based on jealousy?"

"I am not jealous of her. And I didn't do anything."

"Beks, you're jealous. You're a jealous friend. You grew up the only girl in a family of boys. That creates certain personality traits. Some of which I thoroughly enjoy. But they will find out then we will have to worry about them trying to kill you. Not to mention Klaus being unable to make more hybrids."

"He has blood bags left," she offered but inside, she understood.

Speaking of Niklaus, he cornered Rebekah the next time she arrived at Fredrik's old place. HE was standing there. Her brother wrapped his hands around her neck. "You've been quite a brat for way too long," he said and stabbed her with her dagger. But he pulled it out. She was surprised. "No sense in doing it since Fredrik would just undagger you. For once he tries to save you. Never before."

"That's not true and I know it," she breathed out, "He's not you. He hasn't changed from the brother that used to protect me. Now you- you have become nothing but a megalomaniac threatened by anyone moving on from you even when you give them every reason to! Do you know why you're alone, Nik? It's because you are incapable of change nor forgiveness and those are required."

"What do you know?"

"I've learned. After a thousand years, I've actually learned something," she said, standing up tall. His eyes went gold and he attacked her, taking a bite out of her neck. She was frustrated but she knew from Stefan that their blood could cure the werewolf bite so Fredrik's blood would do just fine. "See, still the same you." She held her neck as ran off and straight to Kore's. She managed to make it to the door and knock before she collapsed on the porch.

Rebekah woke up in Bonnie's bed with the green eyed witch looking after her. She reached up quickly and felt her neck but everything was healed. "You okay?" Bonnie asked her. She nodded, "I'm actually not that mad at you. I mean I am but I'm not. I- No one but you and Kore have ever really defended me. But I don't need you to defend me by killing the people that treat me badly. Just let me rant and maybe trip them down some stairs next time. Compel them into a really bad dye job. You don't have to do extremes."

"That dye job thing might work," she said and Bonnie smirked then laid down next to her.

"So...I've been texting Ella." Rebekah sat up and looked at Bonnie.

"What? And you didn't tell me?"

"You were too busy planning murder," she said and shook her head, "So we've talked. I know why she's so- anyway- her mother is Thai and Eritrean. And her father is Brazilian and African American. She's literally the most complex person I've ever met besides you and Kore. She does MMA, that's mixed martial arts. But she used to be a ballet dancer."

"So you're smitten?" Rebekah asked and Bonnie shook her head but smiled.

"I'm just happy we'll be in New York soon and away from here."

"I know what you mean. Let's go to Atlanta this week to get dresses. I suppose you can invite your other blonde friend along." Bonnie rolled her eyes but relaxed next to her.

In Kore and Fredrik's room, they were already asleep for the night. After Fredrik fed Rebekah his blood, he wanted to confront Niklaus but Kore convinced him not to. They settled into bed together and almost immediately Fredrik was bombarded with a dream. It was fire and blood and chaos. Then, out of the side of his eye, he saw a wolf. It darted through the dream and as it moved, things changed. They calmed. And things were safe again.
