Care (Killjoy and Cypher)

Killjoy woke with a headache, her body sluggish as she extracted herself from her girlfriends arms and pushed herself up. She knew something wasn't right, but she had to finish the portal tonight or they would be behind schedule. Deciding to just stay in pjs, and grabbing a blanket from on top of the pail she wrapped it around her shoulders as she headed out of the room and towards the kitchen to start up a cup of coffee. It was early enough that even the most late night owls would be asleep, or hidden in their rooms, and the only other one that rivaled herself in workaholic states were both still in their work stations. A cup of coffee in hand she slowly shuffled towards her workshop, sniffling softly to keep from sneezing. 

This was the 5th time Killjoy caught herself falling asleep at the foot of the portal, her head leaning against the cool metal helped with the heat and chills that wracked her body. She groaned softly pulling her head away from the metal to once again try to finish soldering the pieces, half adjusting the blanket yet again when she felt a chill overtake her. She didn't hear the door open once again, not until a soft hand touched her shoulder. Killjoy jumped out of her skin with a raspy yelp, falling into a coughing fit, as her girlfriend rubbed her back. "Woah, woah easy Klara.. Should you even be working babe? You sound sick.." Killjoy nodded faintly, catching her breath as the coughing subsided. "I-Im fine Maus... It's just a little cough..." Raze raised a eyebrow at that but didn't dare question the strong headed engineer, supporting her as she leaned more heavily on her girlfriend, resting her head on her shoulder as Killjoy once again started dozing off. Raze chuckled softly, and gently rubbed her shoulder. "Klara your clearly exhausted.. please go lay down in your bed, Brimstone will understand why." That seemed to wake her back up as she groaned softly back into a sitting position. "I can't Raze.. I gotta finish this tonight.." Raze just nodded softly, rubbing Killjoys back softly adding support as her girlfriend powered through. 

Cypher hadn't seen any sign of killjoy nor Raze, and though while its normal he had a bad feeling about it. Deciding to pay the engineer a visit He opened the door to see Killjoy wrapped in a blanket a light pink flush on her face as she leaned against her girlfriend yet again dozing off. Raze was in the middle of gently removing the soldering iron from the engineers hands before she burnt either of them when the door opened. Raze froze like she was caught doing something she wasn't supposed to, before quickly motioning for him to stay quiet. He nodded in agreement as he moved forward, a eyebrow raised at the two girls. "What are you two up to? And is she okay?" He whispered motioning to the other engineer. "She's sick but won't go lay down to get better.. " Cypher raised a eyebrow before nodding. "Okay.. " Cypher genty bent down and gathered Killjoy into his arms, earning a soft whimper that quickly settled. Raze stood up immediately as well, running her hands through her girlfriends hair to calm her. "I'll clean up in here..Then explain this to Brim.. Can you lay her down?" Raze said softly, looking over to cypher who nodded. "Of course Raze." 

Cypher quietly walked towards the agents rooms, ignoring any curious glances sent his way. Killjoy was mumbling softly in her sleep, and he could feel the heat radiating from her which concerned him, getting the door open was abit of a challenge but when he got in he gently laid her on the bed and tucked her back in. "I'll be right back Killjoy, Just going to get some meds from Sage." After no response he chuckled softly and exited the room, quickly retrieving both some cough medicine and a glass of water and returned quickly. After pouring the amount recommended for adults he gently started trying to wake her up. "Killjoy... Killjoy can you open your eyes for a second? I have medicine that will help you feel better.." "Noooo" He chuckled at the engineers resistance, reminding him very much of his own daughter when she was sick. "Cmon little engineer, it'll only be for just a second then I'll let you sleep. I promise.." "No daddd... just sleeep..." Killjoy mumbled softly, though it had Cypher pausing. 

He hasn't been called Dad in years, and though Brimstone jokes that Cypher is taking his adoptive daughter away from him, it was what it was, a joke. The memories that flooded into his mind where when he had nora and his daughter, his daughter calling him dadda for the first time. Trying to push back the memories that one word brought up, he gently shook Killjoy once more. "cmon little engineer, just this once i promise." his voice shook with emotion though he tried to fight it down, and finally Killjoys brown eyes opened, though faintly. "Cpher?" He nodded gently and helped her sit up, before handing her the small dose. "Take this little one, it'll help with your fever." Killjoy took it without hesitation, her eyes already falling shut. He took the cup from her hands carefully and laid her back, unexpectant of her next words. "Thank you dad.." Cypher gulped nosily, already seeing killjoy had drifted off again though was curled up next to him, deciding to just take it as it was he rubbed her back gently with a soft smile before drifting off himself, praising himself that no one would hurt the little engineer.
