As though to the importance of their upcoming examinations, a batch of pamphlets, leaflets and notices concerning various wizarding careers appeared on the tables in Ravenclaw Tower shortly before the end of the holidays, along with yet another notice on the board, which read: All fifth-years are required to attend a short meeting with their Head of House to discuss their future careers. Times of individual appointments are listed below.

Avery looks down at the list and found that she was expected in Professor Flitwick's office at half past three on Tuesday, which would mean missing most of Arithmancy.

"I would very much appreciate it if at least one leaflet talked about what it's like to become a magizoologist," Pandora says briskly as she is poring over a bright pink and orange leaflet that was headed, "SO YOU THINK YOU'D LIKE TO WORK IN MUGGLE RELATIONS?" "You don't seem to need many qualifications to liaise with Muggles; all they want is an OWL in Muggle Studies: Much more important is your enthusiasm, patience and a good sense of fun!"

She continues beside Avery and Barty (who seems determined to achieve the goal of achieving 12 Outstandings according to their bet) as they are completing assignments in the Ravenclaw common room together, "This is discrimination."

Barty snorted. "It's not exactly a popular or well-paid career, Panda. Makes sense they wouldn't bother trying to advertise it."

Pandora bristled, not appreciating his dismissive tone. "Just because something isn't popular doesn't mean it isn't valuable," she said firmly. "Magizoology is an important field, and it deserves more recognition than it's getting. The fact that they're not even mentioning it in these pamphlets is just wrong."

"Or, and hear me out here, maybe it's because there's only a handful of magizoologists in the entire country, and not many wizards are interested in getting their heads ripped off by a chimera."

"That's a ridiculous overstatement, Barty," she retorted. "You're acting like magizoologists are the only ones who deal with dangerous creatures. Aurors fight dark wizards, and curse breakers explore cursed tombs. And they're still mentioned in these pamphlets. Why is it that magizoology is the only career being snubbed?"

Barty just shrugs and continues working on his homework for DADA, which leads Pandora to turn her attention to Avery, who is focused on writing something down on a piece of parchment, with her eyebrows furrowed. The title reads, "Potential Career Choices" and below are three categories — interesting, practical, and I can't believe I'm considering this — with lists underneath.

Interesting:

*Curse breaker

*Charms professor/researcher

*Journalist

Practical:

*Healer

*Auror
